There were a few different 1k+ upvote posts there that they ignored.

Unless a streamer makes some noise, this is the best we've currently got.

yeah, i think they're working on it already. ultrawide monitors challenge the implementation of their engine which isn't easily changed.

i have no idea why they let this go for so long and then overreacted but i think they will reveal the reson some day. maybe if they got a solution for this.

and i really hope for you guys that it's not in poe2 :)

i know it sucks having invested in some hardware and then not being able to use it.

What does this mean? Where is any actual evidence for this?

It's been working fine for a decade at 32:9 until these geniuses decided to break it for no discernable reasons.

if it had been "working fine", they wouldn't have removed it.

it's obvious that there has been some exploit or other bug abuse they couldn't remove other than messing up the game experience of a substantial part of their player base (those with ultra widescreen monitors and also with alot of money)

that's a huge issue. you don't piss off a large part of your player base for nothing.

Dude, I played several hundred hours of this game at 32:9. It did work fine.

If there was some backend problem with ultrawide, they should be competent enough to FIX the problem.

There were zero noticeable player facing problems with 32:9.

Not only that, they didn't remove the rendering or anything else, they just slapped black bars over the sides of the screen. They can be removed client side and the game still runs and everything is still there. If it was breaking their engine or the game, they'd stop it from rendering, this isn't what they did. They left the entire 32:9 picture being rendered, utilizing our system resources, then slapped some blinders on the screen so you can't see what's happening behind them.

If it were a true technical issue that was causing actual problems, this wouldn't have been the fix.
This is for you my brothers
