[SOLVED] Losing internet while playing POE

PS: so it was 99% cable problem. Switched to wifi and was ok, same ping, little spikes but you can use predictive networking mode and disable few things on your wifi to work smoothly

Im using ethernet cable to my router. My internet speed, ping everything is fine. But when i play POE, other games too, but not as often as POE Im losing internet connection. No internet connection, lost connection to the router - cant ping or do anything. After 5-10seconds my connection is restored and everything is fine. But again, after few mins, hours disconnects again.

I can web browsing, downloading, updating 30gb of data or more without disconnections.

It started recently. I havent done anything to my PC (not laptop). No software installed or updated. Im the only one using internet. Maybe my parents are browsing on their fones but that shouldnt be issue. I have read other forums, googled a lot and nothing worked so far. Im thinking it might be cable issue, buying wireless adapter now to see if that helps

PS: it happens mostly while in map. I could stay in HO longer without losing internet. When i go to maps, it happens randomly. Another fact, happens more often when i PLAY. I could afk in maps longer too

PS2: I see some people having spikes, lags issues reported lately. I think, they are like me, they LOST internet connection and not just normal LAGS that makes them to see their ingame ping went up and sometimes DC

sounds like you have a problem with the router/modem in your home.
Check for firmware upgrade or replace it.

However it's doesn't change the fact the either your PC drops it's IP stack (check your windows event log and your security software log), the router/modem crash it's internal routes (check the logs of the router/modem) or the ISP node / network drops your connection (contact ISP support with VERY specific date and time where this happens and ask them to check their logs).

So you will have to diagnose more at your local setup first --->
- Windows updates can have done something.
- Latest vendor drivers for netcard and motherboard chipset.
- Latest firmware for router/modem.
- Turn off router/modem for 30 minuttes and then on again to force ISP reset.
- Logs from the system I talked about.
I have the same problem
got same strange bug, after last patch.
- PoE 2 and PoE 1 are seperate games but PoE 2 will not impact PoE 1 development
- Ruthless was just a side project
- We will devote resources to continue developing PoE 1

GGG doesn't offer TECH support "for the moment" (been like this for several years)....

Can you try to disable "engine multithreading" and see if that helps.

Also please start a WinMTR report to a instance IP where this is going to happen + make one to the instance IP in your hideout where this doesn't happend...
300+ packet minimum on each WinMTR report.

Lastly what PoE gateway are you using....

Tried it all, same result. Gateways? Tried europe, us, my SG, JP. all same. No internet connection entirely.

I checked several programs for checking incoming/outgoing, netstats etc.. It all are same, no packet loss or whatever, just pure no connection for few seconds then its up again.

That sucks but whatever happens it's either on your pc, the router/modem or the ISP.
So you will have to connect a second pc or laptop to the network and start some ping windows and then monitor what happens to those when you loose connection on your game pc.

These are the ping windows you should start on the second pc or laptop -->
- ping 8.8.8.8
- Ping "your default gateway IP" that should be your router/modem.
- Ping the IP on the game pc that looses connection.

On your game pc, you should also start some ping windows -->
- Ping 8.8.8.8
- Ping "your default gateway IP" that should be your router/modem.
- Ping the IP on the secondary pc.

This should give you a very clear image about where the connection is lost.
