Stopping the pickit hack is simple and 100 percent effective. Have loot drops for each individual person just like pretty much every other loot game does now. This stupid loot timer is a joke.
100% agree - but this has been talked to death. It appears GGG likes FFA. I play a ranged toon and so the current system is FFA to me. I never get the drops targeted to me in a public game!

Any program that runs on the same computer as the client is indeed detectable. The hard part is knowing what to look for.

How are they gonna fix:
Maphacks - not detectable
Bots - not detectable
Pickits - not detectable
The client records metrics, which makes bots and pickits extremely easy to detect, and maphacks somewhat easy to detect.

Boxxing - detectable sort of but unfixable unless you wanna piss a big percentage of the population.
Multiboxing itself is not against the TOS. Automation while multiboxing is, and is likewise easy to detect.

There exist no perfectly accurate way to punish people who break the rules, but the one thing I can comfortably say is that GGG actually gives a shit about stopping dupes and bots, which is more than I can say about Blizzard in the later years of D2.

GGG has already said that, they will not share on how they stop these kind of things.
Rest assure they are are doing everything they can to stop them and protections should be already on.
And yes there is no 100% way to stop these kind of things from happening.
Hackers, Crackers and Botters will always continue to developed new programs, to try and piss people off.

Personal experience says when someone refuses to divulge something that should be publicly known they usually don't have the thing, don't know how to use it, or just don't care enough.
Which is it GGG?

In this case, why GGG isn't telling is pretty obvious...
For example, from other MMOs(specially the korean ones), their security counter-measures are publicly know, eg. GameGuard. So it will be very easy for hackers and botters to target that specific system and bypass it.

If by pickit you are referring to being able to loot items from across the map?
They would need to party up with normal players for it to be a major problem and they would get caught out fairly quickly that way...otherwise they still need to clear the map themselves.
Pickit is a program that automatically picksup nearby items quicker than any human can.
It'd be awesome if players policed themselves by ostracizing anyone found using such programs, but if Diablo 2 is any indicator, that won't happen. What will end up happening instead is more and more players will start using pickit to even the playing field. Then there will be the players who won't even know what's going on. They won't be able to tell if somebody is cheating or just really fast.
I've already partied with people who use a homemade program like this. Quite a lot of players actually. They get it before anyone else, and at un-human like speed.

Like a little data-mining wouldn't identify the anti-cheat.
The only thing being denied is public peace of mind.
