Hello? Police? I'd like to report a crime!

Wee Woo Wee Wooo. Poe police here!

The better question:

Do I ever build anything that's not a witch?
Sometimes. XD
Woohoo, 6 Aislings, then 14ex aug phys. I self-farmed Aislings: set the atlas tree, and buy compasses with 4 Jun missions for 12-15c each.

You only need her at level 3 in research, so you rush that. Then you promote anyone into any position (except ideally research, though no big deal). Imprison anyone who isn't in research at level 3 to maximise intelligence gained. Run non-research safehouses as soon as they're open.

Took me a while to realise that's how to do it, but eventually it was under 2h of play to get an Aisling slam, and I was making more than enough money running moderately juiced cemeteries to pay for the crafts.

Hi!

I'm interested in playing this build. So what would be the best course to transition into DD? Gloves with + to skills & helm enchant with lvl 20 unearth with obliteration as a weapon?

I have currently around 4 ex (i'm bad at making currency)

I wrote earlier in the thread about just how enormous of a difference that Phantasmal Unearth is vs Unearth, even if you get the rest of the pieces (tl;dr it's pretty easily a 100% more damage mod). I'd consider saving up for that first if you can, because then it means everything else scales that much better. There are a few people offline selling it for 5-6ex which even if you aren't great at making currency is a very attainable goal.

If you want to play DD ASAP, get cheap pieces (Unearth 21, a random +2 corrupted rare glove, +5 helm, Obliteration / Doryani's) and then save up for PE. Ashes of the Stars is ~0.5ex and will certainly improve your damage, but by not having Phantasmal Unearth you miss out entirely on the +quality bonus.

Honestly I'd stick to that and just save up for Phantasmal Unearth with a live search going while you play to look for any deals. Hands of the High Templar, a really solid 6L chest, and Aegis Aurora are all going to be major setbacks to your net worth if you feel that 5-6ex is a lot of currency to drop on one item.

That being said, there are plenty of really great, fairly mindless strategies to make currency. Fully specced strongboxes will generally make you your money back on Kirac mods and then some. Another one is to spec in Expedition and read up a little bit on how the remnants work / what the good mods are (spoilers: monsters drop logbooks is always good to get ASAP, then aim for as many of the big skulls as you can, the small ones don't "count" for remnant mods). Each logbook is 20-30c with the potential to be way more, and reroll currencies range from 1c each to 8c each. Rusted Expedition Scarabs are 1c and guarantee you'll get an encounter, and I've never had one net me less than that in return, especially when you've got the Atlas tree filled out.

I will add that for a more budget friendly option, viridi's veil is probably a bit better : it's cheaper ( you can get an enchanted corrupted for around 70c by being a bit lucky and that's going to be the same as a +3 HoHT). At the high end, a +2 enchanted will set you 15 ex, compared to the 50+ex of a +5 HoHT. It's possibly a bit less damage than +5 due to the loss of - res and other damage mod on the head, but since you also get +1 to enhance, that's likely to be a flush.

I'm just putting things together so my gear is in a weird spot right now, but does anyone else have mana issues? I was toying with keeping a clarity in to help with it but haven't been having good results so far

You want to get some -mana cost for non-channeling skills on your ring. That should help quite a lot.
Have people thought about using Polaric Devastation and Legacy of Fury? A defense drop to use either of them, but having the on demand covered in Ash for the ring and perma 15%+ scorched for the boots seems really strong.

Yes, but I moved on from the build before I could afford those pieces. xD

I, in particular, want to see how Legacy's do as a clear boost as well.
