How to gear in SSFHC to survive
Thanks all for messages and tips.
Will start over with rf inquisitor. The second most popular on ssfhc according to poeninja. I played tr raider on softcore scourge and got bored of it that why I thought to challenge myself and play some hc. And now I discover that hc is almost like a new game.. you have to think differently, play differently, build differently. What is the life threshold for entering maps in hc ? You farm blood aqueduct or quarry until lvl 70 and then fight kitava or how do u guys proceed? I plan to use determination and purity of elements (untill I can get better gear and craft there the ailment immunities). Also purity of fire and defiance banner. |

gz on discovering what most PoE players never will and can't imagine :)
I usually level to ~70 in BA or Bridge and then progress, so I'm around 72 when reaching Kitava. (Bridge is safer if u wanna do Scourge aswell) I'm doing Cruel and Merc Lab before and depending on build want to reach 3,5-4,5k Life. Can't help with RF Inquisitor, but ur life should be higher I suppose. Last edited by Sadaukar#2191 on Nov 6, 2021, 6:59:23 AM

" Juggs fine...I had over 1M EHP phy and over 300K ele/chaos with 80% ele, 85% chaos...w/~5m DPS.. but you need gear. The type of gear hard SFF. Only done in SC SSF.. etc.. OP just take it easy. Watch the HC streamers they don't do rippy content and stay way low maps until thoroughly prepared. check out poe.ninja for leaderboard for build idea. Git R Dun! " Minion builds give you a pretty good buffer vs disconnects, provided they have the "aggressive" tag Still, you're right though. PoE is designed so that you can always be killed. The game is balanced around using Alt-F4 to avoid dangerous encounters rather than using actual gameplay mechanics (Chis has stated this, on several occasions). |

You need avoidance, block or evasion and spell block or spell suppression.
Having evasion cap makes you take only 5% of incoming hits, dramatically reducing chances of ever dying to attacks. It's much easier to reach evasion cap than trying to get say, 20k life to survive projectile attack packs. Same concept with spell block. You cant stack enough life to survive 5x2k spell hits. But if you have 75% spell block or max spell suppression it would only tickle little bit. Only looking at life/regen on HC isn't good, life regen doesnt save you when its relevant. |

I leveled a new character, phys traps saboteur. I am level 70, have around 3.8k hp and 1.6k es. So far its going great.
But I have very low phys dmg reduction. How to deal with that ? Also I picked few nodes in tree for "recoup %dmg as life". How the recoup works? I take the damages and recoup it over few seconds after or I don't take at all that portion of damage and instead recover it over few seconds ? |

" I'm doing HC SSF in PoE for the first time and using a completely unplanned build around a class and skill I've never used before. The goal was to finish the acts, and I killed Kitava earlier this morning. It was probably the easiest time I've ever had in killing him, but that's because I took my time and prepared (waited until 77 to do it), because I'm treating every instance of every zone/map as though it might be my last - it's exhilarating. |

" Yeah, if u never played HC u can't imagine really what it means. Most people compare their SC experience and think HC is the same, just with only 1 death. But in reality it's a totally different game and experience. I'm not saying its better or worse... it's just different. Some people might find it boring to overprepare for cetain content, but it definitely keeps u more engaged with ur character and u have to focus all the time, otherwise it might be ur first and last mistake :D |
