Will crit chance to spells help incinerate at all? I'm looking at a void sceptre with 21% fire dot multiplier, 74% increased crit chance to spells, 50% increased fire damage, 20% chance to ignite, and 10% chance to freeze. Should I spend the 45c or keep looking? This will be my first weapon upgrade since getting my current weapon for 2c. Currently rocking a crystal sceptre with 18% fire dot multiplier, 5% increased fire damage, 8-14 for dmg to spells.
Hey Mobuo Mobuta!

Crit chance is minor with this build. So don't spend extra for it. Crit Chance does help us, but we will crit often enough that it's not worth the extra C in trade league. Crit impacts Incinerate. If Incinerate crits, it'll give a massive damage bonus to Incinerate. So only spend the C if the weapon (or any other item) is worth the C without the crit chance mod.

Thanks for the build! First time playing and I was able to get my ass kicked at sirus a0. Can anyone provide some recommendations for getting stronger? thanks!

Hey, Morphyisms! Your post made me laugh. You're thankful and got spanked in the same sentence. I love it. :).

I see you've had some great responses in the meantime. SO I'm only replying to what I see today (and thank you for your patience). Have the changes you've made an impact so far? Things look pretty good from this end. You've had to make some changes based on the uniques you've chosen...so if you still find survivability an issue, you'll want to start reverting back to the guide a bit. (maybe save your chest piece for last).

Also, make sure your elemental resistances are capped. That's huge.

Anyway, I know you've had awesome responses already and need time with them to see how they work out. Good luck!

What's the purpose of using the "15% reduced Life Cost of Skills" mastery and the "Tireless" (6% reduced Cost of skills) arm on the passive tree? Which skills does this affect?
Hey PraceAce! It for Incinerate. I've saved our mana for our CwDT spells. So I've made Incinerate cost life instead. The nice thing is that Incinerate leeches life. So it's really carefree in terms of cost.

Hey there !

@Wrecker_of_Days I'm glad to see you keep your RF chieftain up-to-date, and that he still gets love from so many of us ! It has been a delight to see everyone here ask questions, offer help, suggest variations with the same kindness as ever on each of your topics.

As I did last league, I'll present my adaptation of the build, more endgame-oriented (but much harder to get SSF), so maybe some people strugling with Sirus and other bosses can find some inspiration.

This time I dropped Kaom's Heart for Loreweave + Transcendence (loreweave completely bypasses Transcendence nerf). Thanks to the rework of mana efficiency, I can run Determination, Malevolence, Skitterbots and Tempest shield with reasonable investment; his coupled with the overal RF buff compensate for the loss of Elemental Overload and Elemental Equilibrium.

I focused on defense layers just as I ever do. My version of the build has:
- 7,5k HP (8k at level 100), over 3,5k net regen (ie counting RF degen), up to 4k with a well-rolled sulphur flask.
- 75%/74% block chance with glancing blows and Rumi's Concoction, 5% recovery on block
- 88% flat physical damage reduction from Endu charges and Watcher's eye
- 78% all res + Transcendence with ~20k armor thanks to easier flask uptime
- Immune to shock (Tempest shield) and ignite (Chieftain)
- Immune to stuns and any form of slow, including chill/frozen (Kaom's Roots)
- >50% uptime Immortal Call, enough Endurance charges generation to ensure 10 charges when it expires.

Here is my Stardard PoB:
https://pastebin.com/KhrwmrUM

WARNING: I was bored of acting again, so I'm playing standard this league. However, I use my 3.15 stuff, so no crazy gear or legacy, except Kaom's Ring; so in league you should have a bit less regen and more AoE, which is a decent trade off imho. My flasks are a mess, with the changes all should have the Flagellant's prefix.

Due to the nerf of Tasalio ascendancy, I tend to think Inquisitor offer a better high-end option than Chieftain, but the latter remains a solid choice and possibly easier to build on a budget.
Thanks, PoitelMarto, that means a lot. I'm glad you're enjoying it. Thanks for taking the time to be provide such a detailed post of your changes. I like seeing how people play my builds and the changes they make. The posts have been great. Thanks for making time for yours :). And again, I really appreciate the kind words. They go a long way.

I've been having alot of fun with this build, but I'm starting to slow down dramatically in low tier red maps. Can anyone suggest some areas I should improve? I feel like my gear isn't that bad, but maybe I'm wrong. Thanks!

You DO have pretty good gear :) I see you officially entered the endgame min-maxing stage. From here onwards you can only have small improvements, but do not neglect these, as they accumulate over time and you can have a lot more damage!

A quick improvement could be annointing "Growth and Decay" on your amulet. You can do that on corrupted amulets as well, you "simply" need a tanited oil together with the normal ones.

You could also work on your weapon, I suggest a void or opal sceptre for the implicit mod. I used this one, but ideally you also have +1 all spell skill gems as well.

You could also aim for +20 burning +20 conc supports in your helmet, but what you have is also OK. You can try running the uber lab for the +40% increased RF damage enchantment.

Use awakened support gems if you can afford them, they give a lot more damage. For example, awakened increased AoE gives +10% more area damage on lvl 1, that is a lot better than a regular gem.

Your shield is fine, but you can also have fire damage mods on it, I bought this one:

Try to level up and grab nearby jewel sockets as well, there are 3-4 sockets that are really close on the tree.

I noticed that you are running determination. Do you have any mana reserved at all? I mean.. does immortal call gets triggered regularly? It provides lots of extra damage when you lose endurance charges, plus it gives you tons of resistance. I was not using determniation and had enough mana reserve to get a very decent uptime of immortal call which also felt tanky.

In summary, there are always something to tweak, there are lots of small improvement possibilties arise while you grind in this game. I kept an Excel table which I used to test what my damage would be when I swap a piece of gear. It is not always trivial, e.g.: void sceptre with +1 spell skill gems mod which could potentially be better with what you use, but you would not know unless you calculate it. PoB helps too, but I could never really trust it, the calculations seemed way off.

Good luck out there, never stop the grinding :)

Wow thank you for all of this info, that's very helpful. I've been looking for a +1 all sceptre but they are all pretty pricey haha, hopefully I can get one before too long.

I should prob find a non-corrupted amulet so I don't ahve to buy a tainted oil, I totally forgot about anointing lol.

I was running determination for a while, but I switched to skitterbots because I can't run them both. I didn't even know vermillion rings were a thing, but looking at your character those seem super nice.

I'll have to start picking up some better gems, etc!

Thanks again!

I'm glad you're having fun, Esphialda!

Sorry you've hit a wall. You've already had a great response so I'll leave you to consider the suggestions/advice. I think your setup is great!

This build is designed to be defence first, but I don't find it struggles in any map unless of course a Metamorph is poorly rolled or Maven is being a jerk to a boss that has increased life. I actually started playing around with Determination instead of Skitterbots and I'm quite liking it. I am using a staff instead of a shield. So if you're finding survivability decent, maybe switch to two wands or sceptres or a staff? I could also just be some crappy rolled maps. Some map combos don't seem bad, but when they're coupled with other mods (including mods on the individual monster) they can be pretty surprising.

Anyway, I know this post was pointless as it was Pusztitoo that actually answered your questions.

But let us know how it goes!

This build let me finally finish my first ever Sirus. It's definitely SSF viable. I deal basically no damage, but can almost facetank the beams.
