skelemage is viable but not budget friendly in my opinion. leveling will not be fun but if you can get good gear with good gems i think it's fine. they still melt everything even with the nerfs lol

zombies and support spectres die fast now so you have to resummon them occasionally. stone golem is pretty solid for me so far as is AG.

mana is an issue however when you have to summon skeletons all the time now but i myself don't mind that as i prefer to play necro with minions in any rpg anyway.

i also only play standard as i never get enough time to finish a build and i don't like having to start all over every 3 months or so
poe is going down fast. Diablo 4 and Baldur's Gate 3 have no performance issues. play them instead

I'm playing in standard as well so i can slowly but surely make some progress here and there, mana MIGHT be less of an issue now since alberons makes skeletons perma minions now so that may help it would still be an issue if they keep dying though.

I have some amount of currency in standard from past leagues so hopefully leveling a necro up to speed wont be an issue, I'll take your word for it and try it out. Cheers bro!

How are the carrion golems working on 3.19? Still viable? I have an old version with ashes of stars and Aegis Aurora on standard that I might try, but I am concerned the expensive AG might die....

Alberons Doesn't do Mages, only Skeleton Warriors. although it's still nice for the other stats. rare boots will be better now

The soft one were hidding random gems with quality. They're very important for begginners. (recipes and so on)

so a day or two before the league i was worried about the missing minion duration from necro in the guardian srs version but no one answered me in here.

i went with guardian anyways and it works well sure, but im now 85 and cant rly get more than 15srs out and i think the 2-3seconds more duration the necro gets makes the difference here between having all 20 srs out or just 15.

i think i have to go and get the duration wheel near scion to get all srs out, did you forget about that or how did you plan to reach max srs with the guardian build?


Edit: did some math for it, the following assumes unrelistic perfect seal timing and no srs spamming

with lvl 20 unleash you get a seal every 0.71 seconds thats 2.84s between each cast, or to get 5srs out.

2.84s * 3 = 8.52s to get enough seals for 15srs, note here the guardian builds srs only lasts 8.2seconds thats enough to have 15 most of the time, but its impossible to get more than 15 srs out if you only cast them whith full seals.

to get 20 srs out we need more than 8.52s duration and as close to 11.36s duration (time to get 4 full seals) to actually have them do something while they live.

necromancer has 10.7s srs duration thats just ~0.6s under perfect uptime,
as guardian we can get one of the duration wheels near scion to get 45% increased duration and get to 10.4s srs duration, or with mastery even 11.5s srs duration.

to get a conclusion out of this lets take the dps numbers kay posted a few days ago:
necro build: 374,4k dps per srs
guardian build: 501,6k dps per srs

max dps necro build with: ~7,48m dps with 20srs
max dps guardian build with: ~7,5m dps with 15srs

max dps guardian build + duration nodes: ~10m dps with 20srs

so pretty much 33% more dmg for 3 travel points and 3-4 points into duration.

i would say that is kinda mandatory if you cant get duration somewhere else(if so enlighten me pls)
