Get rid of the xp loss

with regard to feeling negative progress: if you are dying so much that you are feeling negative progress that is completely the fault of the PLAYER, not the game.
If the content is too hard for you to survive in, then you need to do easier content you CAN survive in. If you continue to attempt things that kill you, and then complain about the death penalties incurred, I don't really have any sympathy. If the particular situation surrounding your death is causing you to continuously die (use all your portals etc.), then you as a player need to make a choice as to what's more important to you: your exp, or the possible rewards from killing whatever content that's causing the exp loss. No one is forcing you to keep going back in for more punishment! Last edited by jsuslak313#7615 on Aug 31, 2021, 10:33:10 PM

That's right, Shadeless. It's YOUR fault for not liking the mechanic.

" Fascinating worldview. Enthralling. Anyways - failure carries a cost. |

" Dude... fear in a game??? All i feel is annoyance that a mob spawns in such a bullshit location that it becomes a danger, the mob itself is no danger, i could have x my HP and still die to that mob in that exact same situation, as the mob kept teleport around when i got close. Fear to lose xp, no, just annoyance losing it. Nothing more, and i don't wanna be annoyed when playing. Especially not to a BS mechanic |

I wonder how people would feel about last epoch death penalty: No exp loss but you lose the current monolith "map" and its potential rewards.
In poe would this mean: get teleported to hideout and all map portals close. Could be hard on expensive maps like some unique and shaper guardian maps will also increase complains about map substain. Last edited by kolpo#5585 on Sep 1, 2021, 3:46:46 AM

" It would be very hard, in Lost Epoch all you do is open a new map for free. Here a map can cost 4 exalt, you bet i finish that damn map even if it's " to High" of a content. Also to all those people keep repeating to high a content, if you run 30 maps without a death at t14-16 and then die 2x you lose the progress of all those maps. " Making things up doesn't work in your favor. It looks like you don't know much about the game, so yes, in your case death penalty should remain unchanged. |
|
" Leveling to 100 is so extremely tedious and meaningless that removing the exp penalty would encourage more players to grind to 100. Also, people can always do safe rotations, which are also the quickest way to level 100. Level 100 lost its meaning quite a long time ago and removing the penalty would actually make it a possibility for more players (and builds, mind you). At the very least, they should remove the penalty from bosses like sirus, maven etc. |

" Ok so it was 2 deaths, still to much xp loss |

Save points every 10%. On death you just go to the last save point thus the max you can ever lose is 9.99999999%.
To compencate the OP players remove the 100 cap and allow infinite levels like Delve. Anything above 100 would not return and xtra passive ponts or anything just bragging right down the pub or wheever you exiles hang out. |
