Some people mentioned skips/glitches on other Souls-games where made on purpose. I call BS. It was more likely a result of a tight release schedule and not enough time to beta test every aspect so some loopholes are left untested. The same as every PoE leage start with its tight 12 weeks schedule and 1-3 weeks beta after league start.

But now add semi-constant Mount-speed to the usual glitches and we can expect even faster omega-skips than before, unless they beta test it thoughtful. But i doubt it since release is in 6-7 months and the gameworld seems to be way bigger.
