Possible PoE Partnership Program?
For context, this tweet - https://twitter.com/quinrex/status/1373820723060383746
led to this Reddit thread - https://www.reddit.com/r/pathofexile/comments/maowpw/quin69_on_zizaran_having_to_pay_13000_dollars_for/ in which Bex revealed this little tidbit about GGG's future plans - https://www.reddit.com/r/pathofexile/comments/maowpw/quin69_on_zizaran_having_to_pay_13000_dollars_for/grudvmx/?context=10 " :O Last bumped on Mar 24, 2021, 4:16:49 PM

Are ppl in that threas really arguing that ggg should do this for free cause they get exposure?
Imagine showing up at a themepark as a streamer with 1k ppl and instead of paying the entry fee for those ppl you offer to pay them in exposure. You would be laughed at. Not saying that ziz sayd this btw, but the ppl in that thread are making this idiotic argument. How you can actually think like this is unreal, just how detached from reality and entitled can you get. Also didn't already ggg give out free mtx? Or not this time? I know they have done so in the past. [Removed by Support]
Once men turned their thinking over to machines in the hope that this would set them free. But that only permitted other men with machines to enslave them “The Party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command.” |

Its a good initiatve, but by god the subreddit has become so fucking toxic its insane. These types of events don't generate much, if any revenue for GGG because it mostly attracts players that already play the game. The market / player base and potential viewership for single player PVE games is also very different from PVP games like COD, Dota, LoL and Fortnite.
What these redditors are suggesting would be like walking into a restaurant and expecting a free meal or a discount because the restaurant made a profit last year. I'll also add that there are reasons why GGG don't host these types of events fequently. -Player burnout. GGG doesn't expect players to stick around for 3 months. What they want is to get players to come back for the next league. -Adding 'fun' modes, e.g. everyone starts with headhunter, or what we had in mayhem can really detract from the 'normal game', and take away from the hype of a new league. With that said, it sounds like GGG are interested in supporting these kinds of events going forward and are probably turning their minds to approach them given the lack of revenue and distraction, contribution to player burnout and distraction from the next league launch. |

Its worth a shot. If I am Zizaran, I probably ask if PoE can sponsor. Asking is free.
However it shouldn't be an expectation for GGG to pay. Last edited by kiadaw#3194 on Mar 23, 2021, 5:00:29 AM

GGG doesn't have to do this. Zizaran is making a huge profit from running these events and anyone suggesting otherwise is delusional. If GGG can build a permanent social following for the game they'll be insulated if a better ARPG looter game comes out in the future so it's not a bad idea for them.
If an actor has to pay $30k to star in a Marvel movie is that a bad deal for the actor? How about if they also get advertising rights (that no one else is allowed to have) to advertise to 415k people? |

" Yes, every kind of marketing temporarily puts you "down" a certain amount of cash. It's dishonest to pretend that his name and brand is not getting an insane boost from this, maintaining and increasing his viewership which translates into more future donations and partnership programs.
