Our Experiences at GDC 2013

Chris

Would love to hear if either the D2 or D3 devs have had a chance to play PoE and what their thoughts were. As a long time Diablo and PoE fan, Im sure Im not alone in wishing I could have been there for those conversations.

Also curious if if Brother Laz come up at all when you talked with the D2 or D3 devs, considering his 'unique' history with D2 and PoE.

Very nice write-up and thanks for sharing. Glad you're back safely and happy to continue to see PoE being reported on in my internet travels.

All the best

We've been looking into building relationships with publishing partners in the South East Asia region, so we had an opportunity to speak with many such companies to see what they could do to promote Path of Exile in that part of the world.

I'm from SEA and I really hope that this partnership won't make the game region locked. From my experience, there are a few games where they have the localized SEA version and the servers are filled with gold farmers spamming the chat. Sure the lag issues will be solved but the quality of the whole game experience will be diminished to the point that players will leave the game eventually. Not to mention that patches are deployed a few weeks late like some gayrena waiting period.

Furthermore, micro transaction purchases are a pain since I have to buy their "local" points first then convert it to points for POE so I can use them in game. As with all middle men, they fucking take a cut from it. If I were gonna get ripped off, I would rather get ripped off by game developers who poured their blood sweat and tears on the development of the game rather than these "promoters" who just talk out of their ass and do nothing to improve the game.

From a business point of view, this might be a wise move since it alleviates the burden of server maintenance and such. I just hope the quality of the game experience doesn't go down.

Just my 2 cents.
Hope you didn't get too much ideas from Jay Wilson :p

should have punched jay wilson in the face for me.
