Development Manifesto: Harvest Crafting

This only shows that you dont play your own game at all.

Having to hope for the random chance of getting a good item sucks ass. Being able to dedicate time to have a guaranteed way of getting the outcome you want, even if it takes a ton of time and effort was good for the game. It made people depend less on luck and more on their own determination.

Your "vision" for the game is trash. Just like refusing to improve trade this is another instance of developer-out-of-touch-with-players.

And you also keep balancing the game around the 0.1%. Further showing that you have no idea of how the game feels for the average player.

Not gonna buy any mtx or support packs from now on. And if I play I will only play build that make your servers bleed and suffer.
GGG refuses to buff Melee and gives every surivability tool to Spell/Ranged/Minion Builds because they dont play the game or at least melee themself.

Better to make stuff more rare then to remove it out right just my cup of tea
Removing all comments that nay-say their grand "manifesto". They really are owned by China.
it's sad, good items that made end game reachable was finally made accessible. I had fun crafting this league... that's really sad, gonna go back to not doing any craft at all I guess.
Harvest crafting was the only reason why I got interested in crafting to begin with. At the time I only had about 2500+ hours in the game and had never crafted as much as a potion before.
Deterministic crafting made it easier to understand how the complex system worked and allowed me to not have to rely on other people 100% for my end-game needs. With the end of Harvest and introduction of Heist I flat out skipped a league because it lacked the mechanics that kept me engaged with the game.

Now with Ritual adding a nerfed variant of Harvest crafting to the Core game I came back and find myself enjoying the game again, with only two complaints to add to its current implementation;
- too few storable crafts in the Horticrafting station, meaning that I had to waste a lot of the rare ones on nothing, and
- no real way to target harvest crafting other than a specific Atlas region (which I am fine with) and make items that are good for personal use or trading.

You attempt to solve the latter by making the garden encounters be tradable to some extent, while at the same time removing the deterministic part of Harvest crafting, thus rendering the entire system moot in my eyes. The fact that it was deterministic meant that you could get some of the rarer mods at a reasonable price (even now as you trade for it through TFT) instead of wasting tons of currency on pure RNG.

I know you love your casino/slot machine mentality, but this is something I personally cannot stand. I can't invest the time, effort and frankly find it completely un-fun in a game that's meant to entertain me.

In short; removing deterministic crafting - especially on already influenced items - will likely mean that I stop playing for several leagues or maybe even until PoE 2.0.

Sad news overall... :-(
My most hated game.
My most favorite game.
Such is the duality of man.
"People MIGHT be able to create NEAR perfect items"

What the heck is wrong with that?! Shouldn't that be the goal?

YOUR GAME INSTANTLY ONE SHOTS PEOPLE, EVEN WITH PERFECT GEAR.

Don't talk to me about balance.
These changes are good, the removal of the item editor will make you better players.
So all you really end up having is playing the economy, and plowing maps. And if you want to get anywhere on your character, you are better off mowing monsters down like weeds and just collecting pennies of the ground as fast as possible than any meaningful item hunting.
I for one love these changes, was too powerful and interrupted the flow of mapping too greatly.
*sigh*
