Good update, a severe nerf was necessary.
Improving the spawn rate and keeping targeted exalts should make it more accessible to casual players, whilst appropriately nerfing higher end crafting. |

You are removing a valid and real CRAFTING system to return to the lottery-casino nonsense that has nothing to do with crafting, but with expending thousands of currency to chance some mediocre item. If you want to remove the only real crafting system that POE has ever had (and really made the game interesting for a massive amount of people) don't nerf it, just remove it. I would like a come back of harvest during leveling (as it was one of the best leveling mechanics), but fair point.

This is not okay.
I agree Harvest may be too strong at the time, but nerfing it to this extent because it makes other crafting methods much less effective in comparison is totally wrong. And here's why - the game's crafting system pre-Harvest was terrible - you just waste currency like an idiot, hoping RNG will be on your side. It was mindless, you basically spammed currecny/fossils till you got what you wanted. Harvest actually let a lot of players engage in crafting, making it more of an enjoyable and thoughtful process and added a whole new layer to the endgame. You talk about perfect items and such, there are a lot of builds currently that are really strong and let us push the limits, but by doing what you say you are going to do, you are yet again leaving only the top 1% (maybe even less) of the player-base be able to enjoy them. So many of my guildmates, inluding me are still playing the league because we are creating new powerful builds - we actually have something to work towards. With the changes you are going to make - you are going to lose a lot more than just positive opinions. For everyone who is working and don't have time to farm quadruple hundreds of exalted orbs this manifesto just means you gonna need to play the metabuild as budget variant or just skip the league. Playing the same content over and over is still fine but not if you are crippled by missing opportunities gearwise and you just can clear content well with very few builds. Not to mention SSF players who literaly got busted really hard, playing more than 1-2 builds is nearly impossible now if you don't spend all your free time in the limited time of a season.
So if there isn't very very good new content there is no reason to farm 95% of the same shit as allways but now with way less build choices cause not every build will be viable for most content without spending thousands of exalts. RIP build diversity and welcome back quit after 2weeks. |

GGG seems to have nailed exactly what's wrong with harvest, those seem like some logical changes. one mechanic making so many other mechanics of the game completely obsolete is not a good thing. in my opinion, reforges are unnecessary because we already have fossils, and they should make harvest have specific uses that other mechanics in the game don't already have, such as remove-non, fracture/synthesize, remove/add influence, etc, while making sure it's not too deterministic to the point it's trivial to craft some basically best in slot items.
