[3.14] Soulrend/ED Aurastacking Spellslinger | 1-Button-Play | 10mil Dps | T19 100% | All End Game

Intorduction
______________________________________________________________________________

Hello everyone, this is a build guide for Soulrend/ED Spellslinger. We are utilizing the "increased effect of Non-Curse Auras from your Skills" Cluster Jewels to boost both damage and defences. Because of Spellslinger you are going to experience a 1 button palystyle with this setup, which makes the build very smooth and relaxing to play.

Since this is my very first guide all feedback is appreciated. Any questions you may have you can leave here in the comment section. I will try my best to provide an answer.

Changes in 3.14 Ultimatum

Nerfs to Vitality
Nerfs to Flesh and Stone (Mana reservation increased)
Nerfs to Replenishing Presence and First Among Equals Cluster Jewels (4 x -4% = 16% reduced aura effect)
Nerfs to Vaal Righteous Fire (10% less damage)
Blood Magic Support has been replaced by Arrogance Support (+20% aura effect for supported auras, increased Mana multiplier)
"reduced Mana reserved" mod has been renamed to "reduced Reservation of Skills" (This is a big nerf because we can't use any Fertile Catalysts on amulet anymore for an additional 1% reduced Reservation of skills)

The defences have been nerfed by quite a bit. The damage hasn't changed. Overall this build is still strong. The gear is now more expensive to acquire because we need more reduced Reservation of Skills now. Harvest changes make it difficult to make the perfect amulet but it isn't required.

Still Strong in 3.14 but more expensive!

*
Mana reservation section is slightly outdated because of changes to Blood Magic. More "reduced Reservation of Skills" is required now.

Pros and Cons
______________________________________________________________________________

Pros:

+ very tanky, ~6k es recovery, 87/87/87/76 resistances, 60% chance to evade attacks, 75/75 dodge cap with Vaal Grace up (uptime is ~16sec)
+ Can do all endgame content, including T19 100% Delirium maps
+ solid damage ~10mil dot dps
+ Ignores Proximity shields, which makes this an excellent Harbinger and Blight farmer
+ good clearspeed and can do most map mods without any problems
+ 1 button playstyle

Cons:

- single target damage is somewhat lackluster until you invest a decent amount of currency in it
- this particular setup is not ssf friendly since you do need the aura cluster jewels and multiple corrupted jewels with "reduced mana reserved" mod

Detailed Explanation

Wand: You should be using a Wand with atleast "+1 to Level of all Chaos Spell Skill Gems" or "+1 to Level of all Spell Skill Gems" with some Spell Damage and crafted Chaos Dot Multi.
If you have a very high budget, the absolute perfect wand would have:

+1 to Level of all Spell Skill Gems
+1 to Level of all Chaos Spell Skill Gems
+(34–38)% to Chaos Damage over Time Multiplier
+(16–18)% to Damage over Time Multiplier
Malevolence has (34–40)% increased Aura Effect
Curse Enemies with Despair on Hit, with 40% increased Effect

Try to aim for a decent combination of those mods with atleast +1. If you have to choose between +1 Chaos and +1 Spell, the latter is much better because it also increases the level of all our auras and you won't need to get lvl 21 Purities. Also make sure you are using an Imbued Wand since it has the highest base attack speed.

Helmet: Optimally you want to use a high ES Helmet with elevated "reduced Mana reserved" and elevated "Nearby Enemies have -X% to Chaos Resistance". As for Enchantments you can go "Malevolence has 15% reduced Mana reservation" or "Zealotry has 15% reduced Mana reservation".

IMPORTANT UPDATE: @Froziph made a very important observation, something I completely overlooked. Going Blood Magic level 21 or level 20 [Anomalous] + "Skills Supported by Spellslinger have 15% reduced Mana Reservation" Enchantment, while unlinking Vitality from Blood Magic is much more efficient. With that you can drop the elevated mod and 1 x "1% reduced Mana reserved" Jewel, which makes this setup even more budget friendly.

If you choose to go Blood Magic level 21 or level 20 [Anomalous] AND don't require the ...X% reduced Mana Reservation Enchantments, because you are getting enough "reduced Mana reserved" from gear and jewels, you can also go other useful Enchantments like

"40% increased Essence Drain Damage"
"Soulrend deals 40% increased Damage"
"Soulrend fires an additional Projectile"

If you are on a budget you can skip the "Nearby Enemies have -X% to Chaos Resistance" mod. Just buy an enchanted Hubris Circlet and use Deafening Essence of Loathings on it.

Body Armour: Since we are going Low Life Shavronne's Wrappings is a must. If you have a higher budget you can look for the following corruption mods:

+2 to Level of Socketed AoE Gems
+2 to Level of Socketed Duration Gems
+2 to Level of Socketed Projectile Gems
+1 to Level of Socketed Gems
(weakest out of the 4, since we are not using Empower)
+1% to all maximum Resistances (if you want a defensive option)

Shield: As for our Shield, Prism Guardian is BiS. If you are looking for corruption mods do note that +2 to Level of Socketed AoE Gems or/and +2 to Level of Socketed Aura Gems are useless, since we are socketing our Purities in here. The additional Max Res they provide caps out at level 23 so having higher level Purities only provides extra %resistance, which we do not require. Instead I would recommend you look for defensive options such as:

(6–8)% of Physical Damage from Hits taken as Fire/Cold/Lightning/Chaos (best ones because we have almost no other physical mitigation)
(4–6)% increased maximum Energy Shield
You take (20–30)% reduced Extra Damage from Critical Strikes
(4–6)% reduced Area Damage taken from Hits
(4–6)% reduced Damage taken from Projectiles

Boots: Any rare boots with high ES and 30% Movement Speed are good. This is a more flexible item slot. You could also go Warlord's "Regenerate (1.6–2)% of Life per second" or Redeemer's "(8–10)% chance to gain Onslaught for 4 seconds on Kill". For budget option Sin Trek are the best ones you can get.

Useful Enchantment options are 10% increased Movement Speed if you haven't been Hit Recently or Regenerate 2% of Life per second if you were Hit Recently

Gloves: Here I would recommend going either rare Fingerless Silk Gloves with "% to Chaos Damage over Time Multiplier" or Hands of the High Templar with a combination of the following corruption mods:

+2 to Level of Socketed Duration Gems
+2 to Level of Socketed AoE Gems
+2 to Level of Socketed Projectile Gems
+1 to Level of Socketed Gems
+1 to Maximum Frenzy Charges

Curse Enemies with Despair on Hit, with (40–48)% increased Effect (depends on whether you want to use Dying Sun instead of Witchfire Brew)

Amulet: The most important mod to get on your amulet would be "5% reduced Mana Reserved". You then have to use Fertile Catalyst to reduce your Mana reservation by 6%. For the ideal amulet you can use Awakener's Orb to combine Redeemer's "(4–5)% reduced Mana Reserved" and Hunter's "+1 to Level of all Intelligence Skill Gems" and Augment Chaos with Harvest until you hit "(13–16)% to Chaos Damage over Time Multiplier" and "+1 to Level of all Chaos Skill Gems", although this can get very pricey.

Annoint the Amulet with "Champion of the Cause" Notable.

Belt: Nothing special here. Just aim to get "+(48–51) to maximum Energy Shield" and "(16–20)% increased Energy Shield Recovery rate" on a Stygian Vise. All you need is Crusader Influence. But if you are looking to upgrade you can try to roll the following mods:

+(48–51) to maximum Energy Shield
(13–15)% increased maximum Energy Shield (Crusader)
(16–20)% increased Energy Shield Recovery rate (Crusader or Shaper)
(26–30)% increased Energy Shield from Body Armour (Shaper)
(31–35)% increased Spell Damage during any Flask Effect (Crusader or Shaper)

If you want to get an Enchantment for your belt then "Enemies Withered by you have -6% to all Resistances" is by far the best choice, because we are automatically inflicting Wither to all nearby enemies thanks to Withering Presence.

Rings: One of our rings is Vivinsect. It provides a lot of regen, boosts Discipline by 5 levels and also fixes some of the attribute issues you might experience. Really just an amazing ring overall. The veiled mod can be adjusted to your needs.

For our second ring slot we are using a rare Unset Ring. This is the most flexible gear slot and can be used to fix any resistance and attribute problems. Use Deafening Essence of Envy to get the "(31–34)% increased Chaos Damage" mod on it. But do get an Unset Ring, since the extra socket is required for Vaal Righteous Fire.

Jewels:
Required Unique Jewels are Might of the Meek, Intuitiv Leap and Conqueror's Efficiency.

The required rare Jewels consist of
4x [3% increased effect of Non-Curse Auras from your Skills] Medium Cluster Jewels with Replenishing Presence and First Among Equals

Other Jewels you will need but don't require you to have the exact same mods are
2x [12% increased Chaos Damage] Large Cluster Jewels with Touch of Cruelty, Unholy Grace and Wicked Pall (this is the ideal Large Cluster but you can use whatever notables you manage to get with increased chaos damage)

Prioritize the following small passive stats on your Cluster Jewels:

Added Small Passive Skills also grant: +X to Strength
Added Small Passive Skills also grant: +X to Dexterity
Added Small Passive Skills also grant: +X to All Attributes
Added Small Passive Skills also grant: +X% to Chaos Resistance
Added Small Passive Skills also grant: Regenerate X% of Life per Second

And lastly, you will require 4-6x rare corrupted Jewels with "1% reduced Mana reserved". Prioritze "% increased maximum Energy Shield", damage mods and attributes, mainly strength.
How many you will need in total depends on how often you can get the corruption mod on your Unique Jewels and how much reduced Mana reservation you are getting from gear. More on that in the Required Mana Reservation section.

If you plan on using a Watcher's Eye try searching for the following mods:

(10–15)% increased Energy Shield Recovery Rate while affected by Discipline

Regenerate (1.5–2.5)% of Energy Shield per Second while affected by Discipline

(8–12)% increased Recovery rate of Life and Energy Shield while affected by Malevolence

Gain Arcane Surge for 4 seconds when you create Consecrated Ground while affected by Zealotry (allows you to drop Arcane Surge Support)

+(18–22)% to Damage over Time Multiplier while affected by Malevolence (expensive)

(10–15)% increased Movement Speed while affected by Grace

and Purity of Fire/Ice/Lightning mods are usable aswell, especially the "Physical Damage taken as..." ones.

Flask Setup:

Jade Flask, Sulphur Flask, Quartz Flask
(with Bleed, Freeze and Curse removal)

Alchemist's Quicksilver Flask of Adrenaline is very good for clear speed.

Dying Sun vs Witchfire Brew
This comes down to preference. If you are uncomfortable with only 1 projectile and find mapping not smooth enough then you can drop Witchfire Brew for Dying Sun. However if you do so then you need "Despair on Hit" on your Gloves, Wand or Ring to utilize Profane Bloom. For Sirus and Maven I would recommend Witchfire Brew because multiple projectiles are unnecassary in those fights.

Required Mana Reservation

From skill tree (including "Champion of the Cause" Anointment on Amulet) we are getting 40% reduced Mana Reservation, from Amulet 6%, from Helmet 5% and from Conqueror's Efficiency another 2%. All that gives us 53% reduced Mana Reservation.

Prism Guardian reduces Mana Reservation of Purities by 25%.
Vivinsect increases Mana Reservation of Discipline by 10%.
Malevolence has 15% reduced Mana reservation Enchantment reduces Mana Reservation of Malevolence by 15%.

Assuming you are using all the gear pieces mentioned above, another 6% reduced Mana reservation is required, if you want to be able to reserve all your skill gem auras. This is achievable through 6 corrupted Jewels with "1% reduced Mana reserved" mod (Unique and rare).

Now if you also want to be able to reserve Aspect of the Spider another 4% reduced Mana Reservaion is required. For this you need the elevated "reduced Mana reserved" mod on your Helmet and another corrupted jewel. And you also need to have atleast 2x lvl 21 Spellslinger gems.

On a budget you can still use Aspect of Spider during tougher boss fights by disabling Contagion, since it is only required for better clear.

UPDATE: *If you go "Skills Supported by Spellslinger have 15% reduced Mana Reservation" Enchantment and unlink Vitality from Blood Magic, you need 3% less reduced mana reservation. That means you can either drop the elevated mod from Helmet + 1x "1% reduced Mana reserved" Jewel or you can drop 3x "1% reduced Mana reserved" Jewels. Although if you decide to only drop 2%, you can also reserve Flesh and Stone for added defences or Summon Skitterbots for 20% shock and chill. Allthough not necessary or even worth it, another 50% aura could also be reserved but requires more "reduced Mana reserved" from jewels, most likely Medium and Large Clusters (really expensive).*

Assuming you have all "reduced mana reserved" from skill tree, gear (including elevated mod) and atleast 7x "1% reduced Mana reserved" Jewels and you don't care about reserving Flesh and Stone or Summon Skitterbots, you can just drop the ...X% reduced Mana Reservation Enchantment and opt for a damage or utility one instead.

Note: There are other possibilities for aquiring reduced Mana Reservation, e.g. through Synthesized items, dropping Vivinsect, "1% reduced Mana reserved" corruption on Cluster Jewels etc. In that case depending on your gear you might have to experiment in PoB to fit in all your auras.

>> If at any point you are unsure how much "reduced Mana reserved" you need for certain auras just use Path of Building and import your current character to check. Edit any item with the "reduced Mana reserved" mod and keep increasing it until you are able to reserve all auras. That way you will know exactly how much you need. <<

Gem Setup

Shavronne's Wrappings:

Soulrend - Spellslinger - Efficacy - Controlled Destruction - Void Manipulation - Swift Affliction

Hands of the High Templar:

Essence Drain - Spellslinger - Efficacy - Swift Affliction

Wand:

Contagion - Spellslinger - Increased Area of Effect

Helmet:

When using "Skills Supported by Spellslinger have 15% reduced Mana Reservation" Enchantment:

Zealotry [Divergent] - Malevolence [Anomalous] - Blood Magic [lvl 21 or Anomalous], Vitality (unlinked)

When using "Malevolence has 15% reduced Mana reservation" or "Zealotry has 15% reduced Mana reservation" Enchantment:

Zealotry [Divergent] - Malevolence [Anomalous] - Vitality - Blood Magic

Prism Guardian (no links required):

Purity of Fire, Purity of Lightning, Purity of Ice

Boots:

Flame Dash - Arcane Surge, Vaal Grace, Frenzy (make sure your Arcane Surge is not linked to Grace, otherwise you won't have enough Mana to reserve it.)

When using "Skills Supported by Spellslinger have 15% reduced Mana Reservation" Enchantment: You can reserve Flesh and Stone or Summon Skitterbots if you drop Arcane Surge (~10% less damage). To make up for the damage loss you can use Arcane Surge Zealotry or Malevolence Dot Multi Watcher's Eye.

Vivinsect:

Vaal Discipline

Unset Ring:

Vaal Righteous Fire [Divergent]

Craft Aspect of the Spider, wherever you have space.

Your Purities should be level 21 unless you have a Wand with "+1 to Level of all Spell Skill Gems". And if you have +1 to all Intelligence Skill gems on Amulet, your Purity of Lightning doesn't need to be lvl 21 regardless.

Alternate Quality gems are not necessary but useful if you are trying to minmax.

Build Transitions
You can use your leveling gear until yellow maps because the build relies mostly on gem levels. A SSF firendly version of the build could look like this:

https://pastebin.com/enf4e6C8.

You can stay life based and prepare for a low life transition. Get Intuitive Leap, Might of the Meek and Conqueror's Efficiancy (reward from The Wings of Vastiri quest in act 8).

https://pastebin.com/mUBmjNS7

For a transition to low life you will need Shavronne's Wrappings and Prism Guardian, ideally also your Helmet Enchantment. After that your damage and defences both will spike and you can easily do maps until T16. After that work towards getting Aura Effect Jewels and reduced mana reserved on gear.

https://pastebin.com/32PQcFpU

Keep in mind that the calculations for aura reservation are somewhat complicated and the values keep changing as you level and acquire new gear. Please actively use Path of Building and try out different setups for your auras at any given moment.

Useful Information
______________________________________________________________________________

Occultist vs Trickster
Trickster has faster clear speed than Occultist but that’s about it. Occultist has much more damage, explode through Profane Bloom, Wither application and 100% reduced Life Regeneration through Void Beacon, which is amazing quality of life because Maven keeps healing and regenerating bosses she witnesses.

You can go Trickster if your only focus is on speed mapping. You will lose out on Wither since there aren’t enough sockets available for a totem setup. And you won’t have access to Explode, except if you can manage to get your hands on a good Synthesized Wand with explode mod.

Since the single target is somewhat lacklsuter at the begining, I would highly recommend going Occultist because it is easier to achieve a comfortable amount of dps.

Leveling
You can start by leveling with self cast Essence Drain/Contagion until Act 3 where you get Spellslinger + Soulrend.
From that point on you can transition into a Spellslinger setup with ED/Contagion and Soulrend. The damage scales with levels and as you level Spellslinger Support you will be able to add more Support links to Soulrend and Essence Drain.

Here is an example of what your gear could look like after finishing all acts https://pastebin.com/enf4e6C8. This setup requires no trading. You won't be going Aura stacking right from the start since for that some uniques are required.

If this not your first character and you are able to acquire all the necessary gear you can switch to Low Life sooner.
Around level 80 you can start switching to Aurastacking. Prioritize getting all aura nodes in skill tree first.
You can also check out tytykiller's Chaos Spellslinger speedrun from a few leagues ago. The leveling process is still the same.

Unfortunately there is no replacement for aura effect jewels. This build requires 4 of those which equals to 6ex already. The minimum amount you would need to start would be ~10ex in total.

If on a very low budget, I would suggest you play a regular Chaos Spellslinger build until you have enough currency for a transition.

I will be adding a more indepth budget explanation to the guide soon.

looks good! might be trying this out later this league
Awesome build man! Would you recommend this as a league starter for next league if it is not nerfed?
wow man bumped this build on youtube, and it was awesome. i was searching a build to bring me to end game. i have 50ex on my stash is that enough?

Chaos Spellslinger is a great leaguestarter but you won't be able to go aurastacking right off the bat. But the regular build setup requires almost no investment for mapping.
I am loving this build.

I have invested a significant amount of currency. I think only between gems about 100ex. After the gear hehe

I am having a problem. I can't launch GRACE, it's the only thing I'm missing. I have a lot of mana reserves. In fact I am at 284/1581 mana and 1297 in reserve.

Any ideas? I even put a point in the tree that gives me another 4% reserve and I still haven't arrived.

Could one cons be my level? Still 93.

Yes definitely, with 50ex you should have no problem with most of endgame content.
