Desolation

In life I was a convict from the Isle of Oriath, exiled to the forsaken lands of Wraeclast. But in death I learned that I was more, so much more. Countless times I have been born, I have lived and I have died. And in those lives I have blazed a trail of destruction as a stalwart Marauder. My bow raining hell from above as an agile Ranger. As a Witch my mastery of the elements compounded my place on the battlefield. As a Duelist I was adaptive death incarnate. As a Shadow I lived for the thrill of the "final moment", the seconds between life and death at the end of my daggers. Marching through fields of death and of sin with naught but my staff, my stoic will as a Templar never faltered. In my last life, I was a Scion, a master of all and yet a master of none: the all-encompassing warrior that was frequently underestimated and often victorious

Once more I have been born, I have lived and I have died and once more I exist in the darkness between life and death. For I am not yet born, nor am I dead still. I exist in a place where the skills and the magic, the weapons and the armor, and the gems and jewels of lives past are but wisps on the fingertips of those that create and those that destroy.

Here in this place of darkness, I await as I always have, for another league, a world born anew. A world like those that have come before. Where divinity is within reach and gods and monsters are but objects powered by the immovable machinations of the Everlasting Immortals who shape all that was, all that is and all that ever will be.


He who now knew only peace was dragged and ripped away from his sanctuary of darkness. His kidnapper churned and swirled fueled by the unpredictable powers of chaos. Moments later he opened his eyes and rose to his feet. He knew what had happened, he knew where he was and he knew what he must do. He was stood on the blue shores of Eternium – home to the creators of all that is. Home to those who’ve condemned him to an eternal existence of struggle.

Balling his hands into fists he knew that he bore not the powers of classes past but of the very darkness in which he’d found peace.

Grinning from ear to ear all became clear. ‘My Path of Exile lies here.’
