POE 2 (new engine) which PC for 1440p 144hz MAX-settings?
Hy people,
I know there is already a similar entry on this topic but related to the current engine from POE 3.x. Are there already official system requirements for the 4.0 update here? Will the future engine need even less power than the current one? What do you think I can manage relatively constant 144 fps at 1440p and all on max. details after the future update 4.0 with the following PC composition (midrange)? All still speculative. CPU: Ryzen 5 5600x GPU: Geforce RTX 3060 Ti RAM: DDR4 16 Gb (2x8 Gb) at 3200 Mhz Drive: M.2 SSD Thanks a lot. Last bumped on Jan 4, 2021, 10:25:01 AM

PoE2 is NOT going to be a new engine. They've stated that specifically. The engine will continue to evolve but will not be attached to any particular content release.

Constant 144 fps? In PoE? Yeah, mayve afking in HO...

OK, so with the same engine but sharper textures etc., higher demands on the system can be assumed. I thought GGG was reworking the relatively poorly optimized engine and making it more efficient.
Correction: 144fps until enemies come or effects have to be displayed -> so in the homebase haha |

For reference, here's my FPS in Delirium influence map, with similar GPU
Ryzen R9-3900X Gigabyte RTX3060ti GamingOC 16gb DDR4 3200 500gb WD NVMe SSD Acer XB271HU Monitor (165hz) All settings high, Vulcan Dynamic culling & resolution off ![]() I can maintain above 144hz, it only dips below 100 if there are widescreen explosion & when during lag spikes (net/server connection). If you're wondering what's the FPS when that strongbox exploded?
![]() I'm just curious why my GPU & CPU drop to 0% & 5% though. FPS was fine but I encounter lag spikes, my usual ping was 60-90ms on a good day & time but it sometimes jumps to 150ms or 250ms per instance. Thank you very much for the presentation. My ping also fluctuates from usually around 12-16 ms to 25 ms on weekends. I am on the net via a fiber cable and the server is located in Amsterdam (live in Austria).
So according to your data, it would be possible to reach the 144 hz at least some of the time. Thanks One more question, why did you choose VULKAN instead of DX 11? |

Just an FYI, GGG will not post recommended specs, just minimum specs (and those are the barest minimum to even run the game in any way)
Reason being people can have the same PC parts, all meeting the specs and get wildly varying performance due to drivers, other programs, and poor maintenance. Ancestral Bond. It's a thing that does stuff. -Vipermagi

" Yes, it's possible you can reach or maintain 144hz with 3060ti. " Just a remnant of my old settings when I'm still using my gaming laptop (i7-8750H, GTX1060, 16gb DDDR4, 256gb WD NVMe). When I changed from DX11 to Vulkan, it was a noticeable performance boost back then, so I just didn't bother to change it back to DX11 even if using my pc.
