Our Reasoning Behind the 3.13 Launch Delay
Chris, you have missed a key point in your decision making.
I like many of your staff will have two weeks off over Christmas and I would have spent much of my free time playing POE. When I return to work in Jan it is normally extremely busy and I often end up needing to work weekends to catch up on the two weeks off probably like your staff do. |

'But the commercial reality is that if we kept our original release date, we would be fucked'
thank you for the sincerity, i felt part of GGG readying this. also, 'So far we have historically been really lucky to almost always avoid directly clashing with the release of other major games. However, in late 2019, we released the Blight league less than two weeks after WoW Classic's launch. This had a massively negative impact on player numbers, play hours, Twitch views and revenue' i'm not sure if this was de main reason on why blight didn't reach yours expectations. i dont know about other people but i feel blight announcement was a lot boring compared to all leagues that i have played(since legion without any skip), nothing significant was really added to the build system or the game core like a saw in another leagues, please consider that and keep the good work. i'm pretty excited to december events anyway and i have a question , heist's end going to be extended? Kind of a slap to the face of the poe die hards. Im not one but if i dedicated the amount of time many do to poes league start. Just to have it pushed away so the devs can guarentee their launch bottom line would most likely bother me to no end.
And i see this as a huge ego move. Thinking you can pull this and have your die hards run back and bow in january. Big believe in the game. Which is a good thing i guess. It was a honest statement but at the same time full of bologna. |

A great post and one of the reasons I support GGG no matter the quality of a league launch etc. Keep up the communication with the community and you'll have no issues. Appreciate the update and look forward to playing some of the flashback events + next league in January!

It made me sad when i first read your post on reddit. I have no care for cyberpunk, but i do care for PoE. So if this is what you need to do to keep the game the best dungeon crawler game in the world, i support it. I dont like it, but support it.
I just hope you manage not to lose players and come up with something interesting. Keep up the good work! Thanks for making a grate game! Last edited by Downfall89#2050 on Oct 29, 2020, 9:27:38 PM

Thanks for the incredibly detailed explanation. I'm here for the long haul (and have been here since closed beta). Do what it takes to keep your team in good shape and the game running.

You guys should be be a league ahead in development anyways. It's crazy you've managed to release on the schedule you have for so long without any serious disasters.
Thanks for the forthright post and no big deal. |
