We do not want to put our players in a position of having to choose between these two games

Yeah, because every single PoE player is just oozing at the mouth for CyberPunk's release! Because it's a direct competitor, and even in the same genre!

A lot of players play multiple genres, I would say the majority do. I and many people in my POE Guild pre-purchased CyberPunk as well as many people I know. So yes, I think it will have a pretty sizeable impact on POE at their launch. Not to mention it is one of the most hyped games to come out in a pretty good while, that is not part of an existing franchise. People love fresh games and ideas.

You heard it here first folks. Your guild represents the majority of players for PoE!

That makes no sense, in fact, I feel like I've gone off the deep end having to reply to this

Shocker incoming: The majority of players for PoE like hack and slash style games!

Players: Why rush unfinished leagues?!
Also players: WHY DELAY A LEAGUE

Jesus.. people.. go out and take a breather in the meanwhile. This hopefully means that GGG can take one as well and deliver a polished new league rather than a stressed and pressed one that everyone will complain about for being rushed.

Except this is not the case, as basic reading comprehension suggests the extra month is NOT to actually deliver a playable league,

it will be used to work on 3.14

I'll just leave you with your own words and hope you master that "basic reading comprehension" yourself lol.

I would hope that GGG is so proud of what they have to offer that they would be happy to compete against other popular titles.

Makes me feel like GGG is not being entirely transparent, or the devs would rather play Cyberpunk than bug fixes during the holidays.

Still, who doesn't love a good Flashback am I right? But this is the big Holiday season. A time when the community is most eager to play. A time when those of us less fortunate can still enjoy a new experience without the cost of AAA titles. To me, the reasons provided for this delay ignore the core principles of PoE, and I'd rather see a comparison to big budget AAA titles and what GGG can offer Free-to-Play, than witnessing GGG's self-defeat by surrendering to giants.

Surrender not accepted.

Holding back an Arpg for a first person shooter?

I don't think people who play PoE Leagues care for Cyberpunk 2077, it is a totally different kind of game. Those who do want to try that can still do it without PoE being delayed. And these will be the people who don't go too far in the league anyway, playing it very casually. I imagine.

Anyway, okay, we will have one month to play in standard instead I guess. And those who do go crazy on league I guess won't feel like they're losing league time when travelling for holidays lol.

I would barely call cyberpunk just a first person shooter. That would be like calling skyrim a first person shooter. It's an rpg. It has classes. You roleplay. You have an upgradable character.

I play a lot of path of exile and have spent around 1000pounds/euros on the game. I also have well over 10k hours in the game. I would definitely have skipped league start if it came out the day after cyberpunk. And then it would have lost interest to me because I like to be at the start of the league as a hc trade player.

I'm sure lots of people would've played still but the comments here are coming from those who are upset, who are far more likely to comment then those that are pleased. It is very likely that the player numbers would be hugely down, twitch viewership would be down, revenue would be down. Unless you're the guy with the business numbers for ggg specifically, I don't think anyone is qualified to make that judgment call for ggg. They said it when the April release was delayed that they were happy the game was delayed because it would impact heavily on poe. So I would trust them on that one.
Return to this flameless sunder

Frozen lore beneath chaotic thunder,
Dominus returns to send us under.
I was just wondering if i should skip league because of Cyberpunk delay.
Now I don't have to, thanks GGG.

But do majority of POE players like ONLY hack&slash? Doubt it.
I can only speak for myself but I like many genres, holding to only one burns me out.

GGG seems to understand that POE is not the only game out there and don't want to risk launching new league together with probably the most hyped game in years as it would result in smaller playerbase.

Wise move from a business point of view I would say.
Does this mean when diablo 4 comes out POE Will delay all the patches until people get bored of diablo 4 ?

Well depends if the leagues and mods they choose are really bad then flashback will be dead in 2 weeks unless they bribe players with free microtransaction boxes which usually is the case for flashbacks.. for the more applied people they bait with more free microtransactions for only a very few.

You say they will hopfully release a polished league, however the original post CLEARLY states the extra month is NOT TO POLISH 3.13, it will in fact be used to work on 3.14.

So id love to understand how im the one who cant read ?

Cyberpunk release on December...yeahhh sure.
