Build a hideout base on a specified theme, vote for your favourites and enjoy some community offered prizes. No entry fee, no cost, just some good ole fashioned fun. The community has generously offered some prizes, like showcase videos, streams and MTX. Please checkout the submissions thread for details.

We run this once every league as something to do as people finish league goals.
Next competition will be midleague 3.12 (30-45 days after leaguestart, tentative 23 October) and will have time to vote on theme.



The submitted hideout must follow a specified theme. The theme was HIDDEN HAVEN!

At the center of it, a gnarled tree draped in fog holds the keys to the atlas. Two paths lead away from it. To the right, a grassy path where a warm bonfire flickers among the vendor's stalls. To the left, a pair of masters long forgotten stand huddled around a fire pit. Whichever way you go, you are enticed to sit by the warm light to share the epics of days gone by.

I wanted to create a dark, green and muddy swamp with a half-destroyed ship. This location may seem gloomy, but also a little beautiful, but still Exile and the Masters have found a home there. I was inspired by Gothic 1-2 to create this Hideout, and I was also inspired by the Swamp of Sorrow location from World of Warcraft.

"Deep in the inner core of Wraeclast there's a fortification, the last hidden refuge." Starting point was the idea of doing "something" with fire to fit my current league character...

In a far galaxy where the world is cold and dark , where battle against the unknown forces is life it self and danger in every corner , there is a little station for rest for a moment ,recharge your self and your starship.

A chance to rest in an unexpected place, and an opportunity for ambitious explorers to make a fortune.
This hideout is kind of a double take on the theme : on one hand, we have this japanese-inspired hot spring inn hidden away in the mountains for travelers to wash away their fatigue, and on the other we have the fact that the whole business is in fact a facade, run by bandits/treasure hunters in order to fund their investigation of a strange contraption found at the summit of the mountain peak, and the riches that it might lead them to.

A lost haven, deep in the lush density of the Sarn jungles. Tracks covered by a secluded waterfall entrance, exiles and masters seek refuge in an isolated oasis.

I've been taking lesser-used and typically very small hideouts to the next level by sprinkling some love and sparkles over them. Cartographer's hideout was my first favorite hideout, but due to the size and light, it was very difficult to work around. BUT! When the water plane decoration was released, I decided I needed to give it another go, because the level differences would make an amazing lake. Throw in Fall's decision to make the theme "Secret Haven" and I knew what I was going to do.

The Secret Forest Lake is a secluded haven, just outside a grand old keep, inhabited by the Godslayers. This is where our tired exiles can relax and recharge afer hard days of traversing the Atlas. It may be small, but it has everything needed. And while the Godslayers are away, off to save the world, the groundkeeper and his wife (who lives in the small hut by the lake) oversees the maintenance of the place.

An old forgotten mansion, lost for years between the rubbles and slums of a destructed city. The trees and vegetations overgrown the place and now some devoted exiles curated it, turning in a warm and friendly place to rest.

"This is a secret place for worshippers. They say that there is a special spring in the pond that gives prayer special power.
However, they didn't know what would happen if they prayed to the wrong gods."

The gate having been long since sealed and the road overgrown, this abandoned lodgehouse is now only accessible by boat through the thick swamps below. The structure is still sound, and now that the exile has had it cleaned and refurbished, it's ready to serve as a comfortable base for them and their companions.

This hideout is a place where souls come after death before they are able to enter Heaven's Door. And yes, name is a JoJo Reference.

Last Haven is a coastal town with high security and is a safe haven for exiles and friends. Last Haven is a refuge from our enemies and the connection to the sea makes it a solid retreat.

The hideouts is based on the eastern theme with a twist of toxic. Each area is dedicated to the master of PoE. The main section where the portal is located, is special as one of the portal is elevated to the top. (i think it's a bug)

Pretty hard to practice black magic without getting an arrow in the head in this world !

Black witches and witchers I've got the perfect haven for you : a small village, populated by dark magic enthusiasts, where you can pray Kitava, make a wish at the wishing well, buy the best potions and ingredients at Einhard market, join the adepts, ask the three sisters statue to open portals to others worlds and even confess your sins at the church confessional if you feel remorseful !

Another boring and monotonous day at the office. Each day is the same. You are trapped within this viscious cycle.
Is there no escape from this? A hidden haven?
Escape from Reality. For me it's Path of Exile. So we wake up on the beach.
The thrill of the fight. Lioneyes Watch and through the forest.
Living on the edge. Past the slums and the top of the tower.
Gore and violence. After the maraketh, the miner and undulating walls of flesh.
On top of a mountain of corpses. At a frozen mountain and the city of religious zealoths
At the peak. With the map device we descend further into dreams within dreams.

But... what do you do at the peak? Stand still? No. You need the thrill! We MOVE. There is only one way. We make a new character and so we wake up on the beach...
After mapping and creating new characters again and again you realise the conquerers were speaking the truth. Grinding. Each day is the same. You are trapped within this viscious cycle.
Is there no escape from this? A hidden haven?
Escape to Reality. For me it's the burnout after about one or two months of a league.

Oh! And don't worry if life gets boring because the new PoE League is already on the horizon and that is when you realize you are already in another cycle...

The hideout is some kind of a safe environment, one where you could see usual characters chill out or be up to some other activities. You can also just sit there and enjoy the peace in between maps for a moment. The cave-like atmosphere makes it feel like a hidden place somehow. Hence the Hidden Haven !

After the fires of the torched courts run out, this small patio hidden in between the rubble became a haven for nature.

Main idea was around fear & persecution. The Occultist has a past of living in fear, however is challenging her fears through power and confidence. However a home, or safe haven, is a place to be at the weakest of times, as well as the strongest. The character strikes me as a person who may feel fear strongly, but would never admit to feeling it, even to herself.

So the Hideout has two contrasting elements - 1) Inviting challenge through open spaces and many people (masters), and 2) intimate private areas which are safe, WHILE not breaking the former element.

Youtube video explains it a little more. But also is player driven - where they can make up their own stories/lore/etc.

As the name tells, it's Einhar's kebab house: place where he feasts on all the rhoa beasts he hunted, also a safehouse for some other masters and travellers too. Jun has her own bar and Alva is chilling over at the bathroom area. The house's location is unknown and it is resort that's out of other society's reach, atmospheric place for special people to enjoy some well-made rhoa kebab.

The main idea was to make a secret hidden behind another secret. This is the Temple of Innocence built around his tomb and hidden in the heart of the azurite mountain.

Inspired by the original game (in particular the ruins of a huge metal colossus at the entrance). The main idea was to create a place, where player could rest after a working day and hundreds of battles in Oriath. Snow, dim lighting, and of course, steampunk machinery, all this together will allow you to relax your eyes, and your lungs will be filled with the frosty air of a glacial hideout.

Since Kitava decimated Oriath. Refugees have been taking boats out of the city to find a new start. Some were fortunate enough to make it to the coast of Wraeclast. This is where they rest until they are ready to move inland to start a new life.
