theme - Waterworld (yeah the infamous film...), the expedition NPC's fit the theme nicely

my char in expedition league never made it to maps (not a fan of this league) so the video doesn't include zana / kirac / the map device, however they are in the download file and can be seen in the screenshots.
the map device is located in the semi-circular counter of the shop and all portals are accessible (any big MTX portals probably will clip through the counter though)

MTX used - hideout base 'All at Sea' (could also port this into the celestial nebula hideout base)
also a pet in a cage next to Einhar (not required - can use any pet you have or leave the cage empty)

Lioneye's_Watch


***Entry #2 for the official hideout competition 2020***

Einhar and the refugees, last seen in 'the Goonies pirate ship', have commandeered the boat and sailed to Lioneye's Watch. (this hideout is part of an ongoing series with a linked story)


Notes;

MTX used - pet rat in a cage next to Einhar, can use any pet you have or leave the cage empty

- fireplace - there is no way to emulate the orange cone of light coming from the fireplace MTX or the nice shadows it produces, however you can make a substitute fireplace from 'fortification door' (the all stone one) + shore bonfire

Jun and Alva portals are untested but have room around them so should be ok, Niko - no clue sorry

The_Goonies_Pirate_Ship


**Entry #1 for the official hideout competition 2020**

I watched The Goonies a few weeks ago and had to attempt to make myself a Goonies themed pirate ship hideout.

Einhar, last seen in 'sinking village', has found several of the refugees sheltering inside a nearby cave... but this is no ordinary cave. They have discovered a hidden pirate ship full of stolen treasure and gold!

Pirate_Island

A syndicate pirate ship, adrift in the infinite celestial sea, with the masters marooned on a tiny island

Notes;

- MTX used - a pet in a cage next to Einhar, you can use any pet you have, or leave the cage empty

- I have used multiple copies of the armor bench and gladiator benches (as the carriage under the guns on the pirate ship and around the masts on the pirate ship), if you are new and do not have these the guns should look fine without, the gladiators benches could be replaced by barrels if you want, otherwise should also be fine without

- all masters with portals should be fully accessible

Pirate_Island_(All_at_Sea)


Main problem in this hideout is the sand piles being invisible. Have added some ground tiles underneath them on the islands so that there aren't large holes, but this creates problems with the shadows and outlines of the tiles are visible.

Venice

Einhar, (and the refugees) last seen drifting in the celestial seas, have made it to Venice, a picturesque trading town of rivers and canals.

Ok I know its not *exactly* like Venice but its as close as I could get :)


MTX used - 3x rain to make the waterfall, not required

- 2x pets in Einhar's cages, not required, can use any pets you have or leave cages empty


Other notes;

Have used 1x blessing font under the crafting bench, if you are a newer player you may not have this. You can change your crafting bench to be the blessing font (with the light beam), but then it will only be accessible from 2 sides of the statue which is mildly annoying. Alternatively the light beam isn't really required, can just leave it without.

Both Jun and Alva should have all portals accessible, Niko will not, can move Niko away from the buildings onto the beach, or maybe into the market square next to the statue near Navali, if you normally delve in a full group.

Venice_(All_at_Sea)


Main problems in this hideout were the sand piles and garden path being invisible. Have added some ground tiles underneath these so that they are visible again, however this adds in problems with the shadows and outlines of the tiles being visible in places.

Outside_the_City_Walls

Exploring the ramshackle houses outside the city walls. Einhar (and the refugees), last seen in Venice, have made the trek to a larger city, but find themselves locked outside the gates - however the piles of corpses make them suspicious of what is going on within the walls.


MTX used - various pets in cages next to einhar - can use any pets you have or leave the cages empty

- an animal head on the wall in tane's workshop, not required at all

Notes - I have used a blessing font underneath one of the statues to make a beam of light, if you are a newer player you will not have this decoration, its not really integral, can be skipped

I tested the temple whilst making it and one of the portals is inacessible inside a large trough of gourds, can rotate Jun if you need the last portal, or move her somewhere else - not much open space in this hideout, sorry

I did not test Alva but she is in the middle of an open square so all portals *should* be accessible

Have not tested Niko, there is some space behind him, rotate him if portal access is a problem

The waypoint is quite far from the map room (good for annoying people and catching scammers?), can move the waypoint to the statue just outside the map room if you want it closer

This hideout uses a LOT of slum buildings which makes it pretty expensive, there is a second layer of higher up slum buildings to disguise the inner house that can be skipped to reduce the cost

Traffic_Jam

Einhar, last seen outside the city walls, has snuck inside after dark, and is met with a horrifying scene - bodies piled in the streets and citizens trying to flee the city


*** hideout is based around a pandemic affecting a city and some people might find it upsetting


MTX used - none

Notes - All Alva and Jun portals should be accessible, however Alva is right next to the map device so the temple portals may overlap with map portals, sorry not much open space in this hideout

Niko portal might be blocked, no clue, but you can move him if its a problem

I have used a copy of the blessing font under the statue to make a beam of light, if you are a newer player you will not have this decoration, it is not integral and can be skipped

Railway_Station

*** Settings - number of lights needs to be on HIGH in order to see the red lights at the front of the trains.

Einhar (and the refugees), last seen in 'Traffic Jam', have decided to flee the plague ridden city and head to the railway station, but it seems many other residents have had the same idea

Jun and Alva portals should all be accessible, have not tested Niko, but there is space behind him, should be able to rotate him if there is a problem

Einhar's train has crashed near a village slowly sinking into the swamp, but what has happened to the refugees? Maybe they followed the path leading off into a watery cave...

Sinking_Village_(All_at_Sea)


Main problems in this hideout were the water planes and grass not displaying properly, so i have removed all of the water planes (they are kinda redundant here anyway) and most of the grassy patches. The waypoint now looks slightly out of place, but nevermind. You could move it under a tree maybe if it bothers you.

The darker lighting makes it feel swampier, which i like :)

Secret_Syndicate_Base

My betrayal themed hideout - the trail to the syndicate safehouse starts on the outskirts of a village in flames following the latest syndicate intervention, and leads us deep into the mines where Jun has setup her investigation headquarters. Finally we come across the syndicate safehouse itself and the mastermind's twisted research laboratory hidden deep within.

Back_to_School

Entry for the iron hideout competition #3 - theme 'Autumn'
I was inspired by the 'back to school' suggestion and immediately thought of making a school using the prison desks.

Have expanded on my rooftop garden hideout to create a heist themed hideout to start the new league with

Burning_Village_(3_Colourways)

This is an update of one of my old hideouts from a year ago that i never finished - a fire has broken out in a small village

**updated for 3.11 - the lights in the green and orange version are now very glowy. I recommend setting bloom to slight in the options menu to tone it down a bit. The red version needs number of lights set to high in the options menu for the red light to render. Iron lanterns can now be changed to additional colours including pink and blue if you want to experiment

MTX used - weta pets, not required

Falling leaves is classed as MTX, however you can get them for free when you reclaim decorations in the lush and arboreal hideouts - not required, or can substitute blown leaves instead

Notes - green version uses some headstones decorations that will not be available to newer players - they add a green glow to the buildings on fire near the waypoint. Hideout is fine without them, just less of a fellfire feel and building is just smoking rather than on fire

I haven't tested out Alva and Jun portals, I seem to remember that some of Alva's appeared behind the stall counter and were still accessible, It looks like most of Jun's should be accessible too, no idea about Niko

The Map device is only accessible from the front and one side of the statue, you can delete the statue if this annoys you (or one of the oriath statues allows access on 3 sides instead)

Temple_of_Doom

**Major Update! - with the release of the new hideout decorations I was able to save on decos in some areas in order to add much more detail to others; the entrance jungle area now has more plants and a layer of water, the lava pit now looks like lava, there are children in the mines, also some small changes to the mine cart area using invisible walls to keep you on the tracks**


Watched the original Indiana Jones trilogy recently and was inspired to make this mash-up hideout of some of my favourite scenes - the boulder run, the leap of faith, the main temple in temple of doom, the mine cart run, the golden idol


There is a shortcut to the map device shown at the end of the video (otherwise it is a long way around to get to it, good for annoying people or catching out scammers i guess)


I hit the maximum decorations limit on this one well before I was finished so I had to cut out a lot of stuff - missing children in the mine, floor tile traps in the idol room, lava flames are a bit sparse, no spider webs in the boulder run and many other small background details :( oh well nevermind

I bought some rain and decided to make a hideout around it

Notes;

- MTX used - 3x rain (should be fine without, just adds atmosphere), weta pets

- Alva and Jun have most of their portals accessible but one or two will spawn inside the table and you will need to rotate the masters if you need to use the final portals, can move the masters into the pub instead if this is a big issue

- I have no idea if Niko's portal is accessible where he is, probably?

**Updated for 3.11 - A lot of places that I could previously place decos on have been blocked, so I have tried to fill in these bits as best I can. The oriath lights are very glowy with the new lighting update, I recommend setting bloom to slight in the options menu to reduce this.

I have bought the new 'all at sea' hideout and transferred my celestial nebula hideouts over to it, however there are serious bugs with several decorations, most notably water planes and grass which look horrible. Garden Path is transparent. Sand piles are transparent. Many other weird random bugs
