Will Harvest Become Core Path of Exile Content?

I'm VERY happy it's not going core.
This is what happens when you let streamers run your game.

and exactly this is the reason i quit with harvest... i want to play ...not make a garden grow things and wasting 1/2 the time for this shitty garden thing. I have a job too, so i dont have that much time a streamer or unemployeed has...
Your argumentation is just crap... go and buy a garden-simulator like farm-sim ... i play hack-n-slay ARPGs meanwhile

btw this is really bad news :

In short, Harvest will not immediately become a core gameplay mechanic but may be reintroduced in the future. this is the bad part of the news --> "but may be reintroduced in the future"

To be clear, I fully agree that the gardening part is an unfun timewaster and needs to go, it's the sane crafting options that needs to stay.

In this light the only good news is that they want to reintroduce it somehow. The bad news is that they mentioned they think the high end is OP - this shows they still want people to grind ungodly hours to get top tier gear.

This is why streamers (i.e. Mathil) are saying in Harvest it is too easy to get the best gear. Streamers benefit from looking like gods while literally playing PoE for a career. If everyone gets that gear then what are they going to post?

If I am putting in time every day (1-2 hours), and more on the weekends, for an entire league I should be able to get everything the game has to offer.

exactly.
TBF harvest really made it too easy to make T1 items, if you are willing to put the time and effort you can have it, the RNG still plays in but you could potentially get the best with easy going method.

should be re balanced and implanted later on.
Deterministic crafting was a massive QoL improvement. In SSF, being able to tweak gear to balance resists or get a weapon upgrade made gearing fun instead of frustrating. I had way fewer items that were "almost" good enough sitting in my stash waiting for boots with cold res to drop, or getting tossed out after exalting on T9 life. I would imagine in trade league, it made crafting feel like a viable alternative to just buying off the market.

There is no reason to make excellent (but not perfect) gear out of reach for people who play PoE as a main hobby outside of their IRL engagements. Giving people the ability to resist cap or put a good life roll onto a chest with their build-enabling conqueror mods isn't gamebreaking. It's giving people a chance to play the game, feel the excitement of progression and improvement, enabling them to realize a build idea.

I understand the desire to tone down the deterministic system to make perfect items less commonplace, but eliminating it all together is so regressive. Do you really want people picking up and IDing every rare piece of gear all league? Or spending hours alt/chaos spamming just to make something serviceable? The pacing of the garden was jarring, but so is the process of trying to craft an upgrade, and I much prefer the former.

(Loved the league by the way. Finally got to try out some builds I've been interested in for a while. Will be massively disappointed if a toned-down form of deterministic crafting isn't integrated after the next league. Bear in mind that fossil crafting and beastcrafting were both killed as ways to give more people access to good gear. It's starting to feel like you want to punish players for making good items, which squeezes builds into non-gear dependent archetypes.)
I have read a lot of these posts and I'm not seeing any mention of the forbidden trove on discord. THAT is what made harvest crafting too easy for a lot of people. They figured out how to bypass the mechanic of not being able to directly trade or sell horticrafting stations and find a way to purchase exactly the craft you want. They didn't farm the seeds and grow them using fortune buds hoping that the craft they wanted would show. So of course it was easy for them. For the rest of us that played the league the way it was supposed to be played, it was not easy, but it was fkn FUN!!!
I just heard the news from Mathil's video. And I have to admit, I enjoyed a lot the harvest league (except the garden part), but I think Mathil's arguments are quite true.
This league doesn't represent this game at all.

I mean, it's a damn difficult game, at any point you look at it. For exemple, when I look at the life leech mechanic right now, i'm just like wtf GGG, why so complicated.
But all these complications lead to many various gameplay, min-maxing, etc...
From my mind, and I think this is the case for most of people that don't want Harvest league craft mechanic to go off, we don't use the fully potential of the game that GGG developped for us.
I mean, they work on so much mechanics, trying to add some different stuff, and people instantly get angry because they have to make their brain work, and improve their knowledge.
Take the exemple of the mana issues and warlord's mark nerf for casters. Many people were lost, because it wasn't simple anymore to fix issues that should be REAL issues.
I totally agree with Mathil's opinion on mirror-tier items etc... You don't need those to clear content or make the build you want to do. You just need knowledge.
If you play PoE to just crush monster's head, then I don't think this game is made for you. I spend most of my time on making build on PoB, and when it works, god dammit, this is so satisfying. Who cares about perfect rolls, if you already crush content with 50% of potential of a mirror-tier item.
Exploding Chest or Tailwind boots are just fancy stuffs, they shouldn't be required for any build. Imo, Tailwind boots destroyed a great part of DeadEye Ascendancy.

Secondly, look clearly at ALL the unique items that are in this game. How many of them are totally useless ? Maybe like 60% or even more ?
Seriously, there is so much content in this game, that people don't care at all. So many tree nodes that have never been clicked on. I don't say they are all worth right now, but I feel like, if it's not game breaker, then people just doesn't go for it.
Personnally, I think PoE should look more like the SSF part. You don't even look at all the drops, just grab currency and buy what you want. PoE is a gambling game, and best players are the one who make the greatest benefits from this gambling. Stop crying about the fact that they are streamers or whatever and they play more time than you. It's like you want the perfect summer body shape in 1 month without any effort. Of course people who plays a lot are more likely to access to top-tier gear.

I think the main problem is, you are too influenced on the top-tier gameplay style that you see in videos or stream, and expect to get as good as the top-tier players but without time investment (ex: two shotting shaper). You spit on the same person who invest their time to explain the game to you or to make easy build for you. Did you ever understand how the Syndicate works for exemple ? And if yes, did you even understand this by yourself ? Or you waited someone who "had time to play" to add an explanation video ?
Stop blaming streamers, GGG or anybody. Start to play the game at 100% before building a wobbly argument on the game's developpment/future.

Now Exile, grab your brain, grab your mouse, and start making something you will really be proud of. Path of Exile is such a rich game that you can't complain about their choice. They always TRY to offer us new content, new stuffs, new gameplay. You may not like it, but at least, try it. And try it at its full potential. GGG is one of the company that listen to its players, not like Blizzard.

Sorry for potato english, and thanks if you read this.
this sucks

RNG crafting is completely inaccessible for casual or even semi-casual players

first league i really enjoyed the progression of my character through the crafting system

i liked it a lot but now go back to exalted/annulment/chaos orb spam

I am not against the decision to not add harvest in the core game

I am against the fact that the whole crafting system is totally pointless for casual or semi-casual player

I dont want to craft mirror-tier items, i dont need them but, I really like crafting something useful for myself and the ex/annulment spam is not achievable for a player that can spend something around 20 hours per week in the game
