There is nothing to update, just click the update button and your fine. If nothing really changes on passives and such the tree won't change when you update it.

That is the question EVERYONE is asking. After all the mana multipliers changed with gems and stuff and other sources and mana regen and stuff were nerfed.... it is going to be rough with a LOT of builds.

I am sure it will depend on the build and what you can take relatively easy. Most people are not going to want to exert or spend a lot of investment getting mana stuff setup. Honestly it feels really bad to do so unless you are doing a full archmage or MoM build or something.

Having to put a ton of investment into normal mana for a normal skill just feels awful.

Eldritch Battery is definitely pretty easy to pick up and is probably one of the better ways to solve mana issues. Eternal youth I have personally never used yet but have been seeing it a lot in last few months or so. We also do pick up eldritch battery on this build.

Will have to wait and see how patch goes and what new mana costs are. I can say as of right NOW before patch mana is not really an issue if you get all those 5% reduced cost on jewels. I can also say that according to patchnotes the trap supports have not changed for mana cost very much.

Actually updating LOWERS the mana cost of traps from 44 to 38. This is from the perfect crime ascendency change that happened in 3.14. Actually went from 20% reduced cost of trap skills to 25% reduced.

Honestly mana is not much of an issue.

Ya. Don't play ssf.
I have been league starting with something very similar to this build. And so far I'm been having a good time. However, I had some hiccups. So here is my experience league starting with the build.

Mana
I was having mana issues even with Eldritch Battery and some ES gear, therefore had to only use Skitterbots and Precision. Since it's league start I haven't been able to get the cluster jewels, so lacking in % reduced mana cost (only have 20% reduced). I swapped to Tinkerskin and changed Chain Reaction to Explosive Expert. With this setup I feel a lot more tanky and have no mana issues. I have removed the mana flask, using Skitterbots and Wrath, missing 20 mana to activate precision. With Tinkerskin and Eldritch Battery I believe I can replace all the %X Reduced mana cost modifiers on my jewels.

Squishy af
I felt squishy af. Changing to Tinkerskin help somewhat. But with the flask nerfs and only having approx. 0% evasion, playing without Wind Dancer felt awful. I have 5k health, Acrobatics, Phase Acrobatics, 10% evade /w Wind Dancer.

Crit Chance
Crit Chance without diamond flask is hard. I'm currently using Increased Critical Strikes Support to get that +2% To Critical Strike Chance and with Exposive Expert giving 80% change agaist Shocked Enemies, I'm having 86% crit chance with diamond flask up. My plan was to remove the Critical Strikes Support gem when I got a hunter chest. But currently I don't think I want to move away from Tinkerskin.

CWDT setup
Now that cwdt costs mana, and we pretty much reserve everything I won't be able to have any cast when damage taken setups. So I have omitted strength pretty much everywhere.

Hydrosphere
I have tried using Hydrosphere + Hextouch + Conductivity, not sure if I'm liking it.

Gear progression
Everything felt OK with leveling gear till I reached yellow map. Spent 2x 20c on +1 to Lightning gems on wands + 95% crit chance + 80% spell damage, and that help a lot.

When I reached red maps I started to feel weak again and bought Mark of the Shaper Opal Ring and a Elder Diamond + Resist + Life ring. Costing in total 80c. I felt this helped a lot. My damage is good but still getting one shot sometimes.

I'm saving the insane amulet as a endgame crafting project, expecting it to cost closer to 4-6ex. Thinking the way is: Alt spam +1 Skill Gem on two amulets, influence merge the items, multimod or lock .

I haven't invested in cluster jewels yet.

Questions
As Chain Reaction destroys the purpose of Tinkerskin it was only natural to try out Explosive Expert. Explosive Expert have: "Damage Penetrates 10% Elemental Resistances against Chilled Enemies". I was thinking adding some cold damage to the build, not sure how. Any thoughts?

Thanks for the build, been having fun.

Level 78 Ice Trapper here. Casual semi-newbie player.

Swapped out Ice Traps + Increased Critical Strikes on my Tabula to try out Trap + Arc. (edit: underleveled gems and no lightning nodes... too weak against runics monsters even on T1 maps. :P So... appreciate feedback to decide if I should throw all-in and convert...)

Ice Traps are a bit dangerous for me. (Resistances and Life aside - as a newbie I'm trying...) Unless I see them and can spam in advance, the 0.5 seconds trap activation is enough for the faster ones (eg. rhoa-like monsters) to ram into me and also getting sniped from just out of range. But I remembered that Arc can clear even a screen away, so I'm hoping. Ice Traps great for bossing though. I'm not properly geared yet, but can freeze most map bosses some of the time.

Any advice from the seniors here? How would Arc Traps be vs. Ice Traps?

As for Mana Consumption - I'm using the Ice Trap build from tripolarbear and with leveled Clarity, and an Inspiration in the 6-link, mana seems to be enough unless I stand there throwing for a few seconds. From my limited understanding, the Inspiration doesn't contribute any damage, but the mana reduction (and ease of attainment) is nice.

Build should be good to go for 3.16. Lots of changes/buffs and a lot of stuff not announced yet or fully shown but as always even then any new additional stuff or changes need to be thoroughly tested and planned before inserted into the guilde.

The big take away here is with a little tinkering on your end at start with passives/masterys and such the build should perform just as good if not slightly better than before.

As always if you have questions feel free to post or come ask me on stream!
non crit lightning is lucky - mastery should be pretty nice right?
