@thecronosone: only node u really need is 'doryani's lesson' for leech, rest is just QoL. You can find a 8 node long jewel with that mod for 30c'ish atm (try to buy something with another node so doryani will be placed closer to you.)
All of the videos are done with a similar jewel (single notable).

@swagofpink: mate from your gear, biggest problem i see is your attack speed. Wand doesn't have 1.5 base, so u are casting 2.2 times per sec instead of 2.5
which is not only a dps loss but also makes you a bit more vulnerable (as any big aoe evasion build, u count on minimizing incoming hits by killing mobs before they act).
Free points from uber lab will get you a lot of breathing room.

@Qarte: i did not feel that dps loss in white maps but hard to say something without seeing the gear. On flask, ty for reminding. i wrote that on endgame part but forgot to mention in levelling part.

I've been progressing up to red maps with the build (check my profile, or pob link below). The damage decent for pack clearing, but single target can be hit or miss. I feel a bit squishy but adding the sulfur flask and atziri's helped with sustain.

Finding another upgrade is proving to be difficult. It would have to be a decent essence crafted helm most likely because I think salvo is doing the grunt work on single target. A +1 fire gems amulet is only adding (around) 30,000 dps or so for like a 1 ex investment. I was planning to just anoint the one I have now with divine judgement since it's relatively cheap.

Once I get the helm, I'll need to switch out my belt or boots for one with 14+% CDR to get up to the 3.03 breakpoint, but those get expensive and I'd be dropping life or chaos res probably.

Ended up buying a cheap enchanted helm and crafting that helm in one essence. Low life but I don't feel like trying again for a bit. Damage is okay for now. Gonna see how high I can push it. TBH though the league is getting pretty stale.

Been enjoying watching the streams and reading through the build. It inspired me to try to make my first own build, really just a twist on this build for poison (not recommended). With the high potential for "shotgun" hits with blazing salvo I thought it might be enough to make up for the reduced duration from volkuur's guidance. The build is really squishy atm and I will likely have to drop poison, but was looking for any advice for potentially saving this poison version. I still need to get a thread of hope, some +1 fire, and play with cluster jewels, but just looking for advice from anyone on how I might improve the survivability of this assassin. My gems are still leveling so I am hoping that helps, my current wall is usually around Tier 9 Maps. Thank you in advance for any help!

Also I saw TrivialMatters dropped the snakepit, hard for me to tell if it is improving my single target hits at all. I do not understand why the added fire damage on the wand is good? Is this just for frenzy attacks?

Current changes dropped Coralito's Signature for regular crit flask. Need to put back Doryani's Lesson and get some cooldown reduction.

ohhh that makes a lot of sense and completely gone over my head as well! thank you again for your awesome build and for your assistance! i think all of the above would really help all of my hiccups and make the gameplay flow even better

yay! im glad u ar enjoying the stream :)

Snakepit works nicely with salvo for clear, but in this build we already have fireball which handles that part really well.

Added fire dmg is converted to added dmg to spells (spellslinger gem's ability). and both our spells have a huge dmg effectiveness.

Assassin survivability is hard (thats basicly why i preferred scion version), easiest solution would be using a pseudo 5L gloves ( shaper gloves can give slower projectiles and 70 crit multi to socketed gems) and running with a Kaom's Heart.

Single target requires a bit getting used to as positioning matters a lot (if u watched the streams i am regularly bitching about it myself too :)

+1 fire amulets should be real cheap atm (30c ish). Also wand could be much better with a few deafening essence of anger (or u can just buy one at this point, i doubt they are budget breaking too.

Considering my gear is quite close to you (has +1 fire amulet and calamitious visions cluster as extra) i am not having any clear problems, and it will get much better once i go for awake.fork and dying sun combo.

While bossing can be a bit 'exciting' with extra mods, i never felt like failing a conqueror/guardian or t16 boss.

On pob the +1 fire amulet didn't show that much extra damage compared to the +36% crit mult I was getting with mine, but now that I've got more sources of +1 gems that might be different. Calamitous visions has been increasing in price for some reason (grrr) so I've been avoiding getting it. That would probably be my biggest upgrade other than a better wand.

And yeah, with a level 14 faster attacks I'm at 2.75 aps exactly, and with 68% cdr on slinger that hits the breakpoint. A 14% belt or boots would be nice but at this point they're multi-ex upgrades if I wanted to keep my life and chaos res.

I've opted to use soul of brine king to keep from getting chain stunned, which really sucks on this build because your only source of survivability is basically not getting hit and leech. I did manage to get a ring with +15 LGOH with spells, which is pretty useful. I'm not sure it's possible to push the dodge% much higher without some GG gear like a dodge shield and boots.

Got a decent amulet which added a good chunk of damage. Just +1 gems wasn't an upgrade over that large crit mult I had, so I needed both. Divine Judgement for now as it's much cheaper than Arcane Potency (which only adds like 5k more dps overall). Calamitous Visions will be the next big upgrade but it's like 100c right now, and I need another couple levels to use it anyway.

Really want to give this build a chance, but looking at the POB I have some questions:

1) How defensive it is?
4.5K life is kind of low right?
Any plans for a CI or LL?

2) Are resistances really that low?
POB shows some really low res, I think only fire is getting maxed.
Is this right?

For a CI build a trickster could be better I think, trivialmatters is the OP so he can answer this better

For resistances the PoB shows only items without resistances, you can get resistances with your items easily as the build does not use too many uniques

Can't use poet's pen as the wand damage is added to the skill and you could be losing a lot of damage there.
