[3.11] Winter Orb Inquisitor (MoM, EB, 2Mil+ DPS per projectile x6)
Why Winter Orb?
- Just cause I love to be a turret dashing around destroying everything, while drinking coffee with my other hand 8-). About the build The build is based on, - Critical Spell Damage (50% cold/50% fire). - Mind Over Matter, 30% of Damage taken from Mana (with Eldritch Batter Energy Shield) before life. - Eldritch Battery, Energy Shield to Protect Mana instead of Life and Skills cost Energy Shield instead of Mana to use, allows to reserve 100% Mana and MoM to work on Energy Shield. Inquisitor's Ascendancy passives - Inevitable Judgement, Critical Strikes ignore Enemy Monster Elemental Resistances. - Sanctuary, creates a Consecrated Ground when stationary (stand still) and also makes enemies take 10% increased damage. - Pious Path makes our Consecrated Ground to linger (effect stays on us for 4 seconds, even if we move away from the Consecrated Ground area), Immunity to Elemental Ailments, 20% cast speed and 200 Energy Shield Regen per second. Current Gear: PROS: - Good clear speed - High damage, fairly fast movement, no need to aim! - Fun to play - This build is fast, aggressive and scales insane. - Solid build for new leagues - starting without MoM+EB, pure life and scales end-game. - Passives tree is basic - mid-game and high-end items enable more polished setups. - Affordable - Doesn't require any specific item. Rather easy to get decent gear! - Flexible - Can take on almost any content in the game - Atziri hard with Winter Orb. - Layered defenses - Several defensive mechanics. - Self-found gameplay - Uniques are beneficial, but not build-defining. - Only cares about 1 map mods - Elemental Reflect. - No mana sustain problems. CONS: - Cannot run Elemental Reflect maps. - Less recovery rate, juiced maps are nasty at tier 14-16, but doable - Low Armour/Evasion = volatile to Physical/Attack damage. Videos:

Body Armour: Skin of a Loyal (B-B-B-G-G-R): - This Body Armour is not a must have. - Nice amount of extra Energy Shield and Armour. - +1 to +5 levels to Winter Orb = Huge DPS boost. - On a Trade League you can find on with +2 Duration/Projetile Gems for 2-4 Exalts (for mine I played 26 Exalts). IF you manage to get Skin of a Loyal first Implicit stat to aim for: - +2 to Level of Socketed Duration Gems or - +2 to Level of Socketed Projectile Gems Options - Early on get Tabula Rasa or any other 6-link Body Armour - Inpulsa's Broken Heart One-Handed Weapon: Most important stats (can gets decent wand/scepter cheap): - +1 to Level of all Cold Spell Skill Gems - +# to Global Critical Strike Multiplier - #% Increased Spell Damage - Gain #% of Non-Chaos Damage as Extra Chaos Damage Wand that I'm currenctly using I've been trying to craft for a while, paid 10 Exalts for a base with: - +1 to Level of all Spell Skill Gems - +1 to Level of all Cold Spell Skill Gems - +# to Global Critical Strike Multiplier Shield: - +1 to Level of all Cold Spell Skill Gems - #% Increased Spell Damage - +# to Maximum Life Nice to have, especially early on: - #% Increased Critical Strike Chance for Spells Helmet: Crown of the Inward Eye This helmet is really solid choice for the build. Managed to get my gloves very early league for 10c. - Awakened GMP is very end-game, replace with: - Hypothermia can be replaced with Awakened Concentrated Effect (This is a DPS upgrade if you have enough spell crit, but different coloured links) - Early leveling just use any cold spell (e.g. Freezing Pulse) leveling Strategy you feel like. Auras:

Enduring Cry - I've always been avoiding War Cry Skills as selfcast, but since this was buffed >> It is totally worth using. Vaal Righteous Fire - Grant 39% MORE Spell Damage, HUGE buff for boss fights. Summon Ice Golem - Nice to have. Some nice to have defensive layers:

Basic Bleed remove Life flask, use Bubbling or Seething Atziri's Promise, cheap extra DPS and Chaos Resist Diamond Flask, with Curse remove/Immunity and increased duration Bottled Faith, VERY big DPS boost - Also VERY expensive (I used actually Granite Flask before I got Bottled Faith, you may aswell use Silver Flask for Onslaught or Dying Sun) Quicksilver, nothing special - Actually realized making this guide how bad roll I have. You suggest Inpulsa's as an option for body armor. Would that require any significant changes elsewhere to take advantage of, or is the chance to shock in this build already good enough?

" Well I rather suggested Inpulsa's as an option for Skin of a Loyal which can be pretty hard to acquire on SSF or early league. Inpulsa's provide the aoe clear which also HoI provides. As for Shocking, that is pretty much the only thing this build doesn't utilize - I just couldn't figure out a beneficial way to Shock bosses like Sirus / Sharper / Heart of the Grove without sacrificing too much. BUT if/when you want to use Inpulsa's keep in mind you lose +1/+3/+5 on Winter Orb level and fair amount of Energy Shield. Currenctly I have 6839life/2129es and 3,140 mil Shaper DPS >> with Inpulsa's 7059life/1718es and 2,115mil Shaper DPS. So to answer your question, you lose DPS and ES - you gain AoE clear and Life. Depending on how high geared you are, might not need much changes. |
