How can I tell if a mod is 'Caster', 'Defense', 'Chaos' and such?
" Oddly enough there's folks who whine and complain and get defensive when you offer to do this, because they value immersive roleplay above all else and DO NOT WANT to know about tiers and types and affixes, they just want to BE the thicc marauder and smash things. More to the point, GGG's devs and coders ain't got time for that. There's also a little streak of social darwinism in the game. "What you don't know CAN hurt you," they say, pointing to innumerable adventurers and explorers whose first landing on exotic shores ended swiftly and messily. "When you go camping in the bush, does every piece of fallen branch say "Tier 11 punk-ass kindling" or "Tier 1 long-lasting fire log"? Do plants come with readable mods like "Poison Ivy - 50% chance to stack 2 or more poisons on enemies within range" or "Agave - gain 3200 life over 5 seconds"? If you're that concerned over it, bring a field guide or hire a native guide to steer you to the useful raw materials and avoid the trash ones or outright deadly shit." That's basically what third-party resources are. GGG leaves it to the exile to discover (sometimes at great cost) the things that someone has already discovered before you and posted elsewhere. For all their shortcomings these sites are at least trying. [19:36]#Mirror_stacking_clown: try smoke ganja every day for 10 years and do memory game
