players that actually matter

The first sentence is all you need to read folks. This person matters! We don't!

What are your solutions here? IP ban? Phone number registration on account creation? I would be opposed to the first, willing on the latter

I don't even need to suggest anything new there, there's tons of threads with tons of people who already have. For instance, some can be seen in my recent thread on the Harvest exalt price (both from sirgog in the initial post, as well as from thread respondents in its subsequent replies) -

https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/2887603

And there'll probably be many more such threads in the years to come (there's already like half a dozen similar threads commenting on the Harvest exalt price). And there were plenty of them previously as well. Cos the problem persists, and that's what you do when you care about an issue that you see as bad - you criticize. Unlike how a certain poster above would like us to behave.

Of course you do. You criticize, following the rules of the chosen "platform". Hell, you can even criticize the rules, as long as we do it within the rules set. And we criticize producively, not by being patronizing, whining and/or cruel.
Sometimes, just sometimes, you should really consider adapting to the world, instead of demanding that the world adapts to you.

would have been 6/10 if you referred to yourself as a reddit pro instead.

The OP standalone is 9/10, but he went and ruined it by responding to comments on the first page. You have to let this stuff breathe.
There is no PoE esports. Lol @pro poe gamerz

"you can even criticize the rules, as long as we do it within the rules" - lolwut? Also no, you actually can't. Mod policy is not up for disputation (unless you see the black hole of "contact us at support@grindinggear.com" to suffice for feedback), for instance, something they do all the time on Reddit. And good luck convincing the powers that be, in any setting, that a certain ruleset isn't working - by showing it working by obediently following it. This is as daft an idea as the other guy had. There are places which invite public discussion and feedback, so not necessitating rebellion, but it isn't here -

Trade in this game is a good example of the alternate process. It was never intended to be as straightforward as it is now (such as it is). The community worked it in regardless, setting up forum shops and then an indexer. GGG finally adapted and added trade listings from premium tabs and later their own official trade site.

Lastly, there's lots of productive criticism here. Which suggests changes. You what isn't productive? What you're doing, which suggests nothing. So don't act like you're the mature one here. Never mind cruelty, which btw your position is actually protecting (did I mention they even took down a post about community harassment of women?) Yeah, really mature...

I'm speaking in general terms here. A LOT of criticism in here, is garbage added with vomit, cruelty and patronizing adjectives. It's in every God damn thread, especially lately. So it goes both ways. And you know it.

Of course a lot of rules can be change, and of course a lot of rules SHOULD be changed. No one is disputing that. But when people blame the support, when they get muted saying "FUCK YOU, GGG! YOU SUCK!!", thinking this is valuable, constructive feedback - and acts like babies when they take action, I seriously wonder what's going on in some brains.

I've suggested A LOT over the years, so don't come in here and say that I'm "suggesting nothing". You don't know what you're talking about on that matter. Please, tell me how I protect cruelty... Because I want people to behave like human beings? Because I want us to criticize without being idiots? Because I want us to encourage changes without breaking the rules?

I'm lost. Goodnight.

Your response to "garbage added with vomit, cruelty and patronizing adjectives" is to go with strawman added with assumption, conjecture and false narratives.

You're defending their ludicrous policies by assuming I'm arguing in favor of the kinds of posts most people would dismiss as unnecessary. That is just disingenuous. If you were to have community input on moderation, you'll likely find such examples wouldn't fare too well there either. However, a lot of other shit the mods here disbar would be allowed, even encouraged. I even gave you a real example of a post they prevented, which most would likely agree shouldn't be suppressed, and yet you ignored that to go on a hyperbole-infused screed instead. The mods aren't here to protect you - those examples you provided of the kind of things you've see posted on this forum is itself evidence of that. They're here to protect the company, nothing more. Go look at the subreddit, and how they're responding to negativity issues. And, prior to that, how their mod policy is determined in the first place. Both are a far cry from what you seem to be defending here. They allowed that post on harassment, for instance, which the mods here suppressed. What you're defending is a far cry from what you think you're defending, let alone what I'm arguing for. You're content letting completely unaccountable people police the forums simply because of how impoverished an impression you have of your fellow man. Anything to fight the 'bad people' right? No matter the cost. People can't be trusted to manage themselves, so you're happy to let a bunch of corporate elders do it.

https://www.reddit.com/r/pathofexile/comments/hjioa3/rpathofexiles_current_direction_and_how_we_want/

And btw, I've been on these forums for years too, and made suggestions as well, so don't bother trying to take the high ground there. I was referring to what you were doing here, not what you may have done on other threads.

Mark my words, the way things are going, if things don't change soon then this is how this place will eventually end up - https://preview.redd.it/jwaf39zf6h851.png?width=1049&format=png&auto=webp&s=ddc888185b8448936cc3f5c9ece75414b4c1d0c4

No, I am not.

I'm done.

In what possible way is this person considered a pro? Being a profession POE player is laughable. Maybe what 5-10 people make decent money from streaming their time playing this game and content creation. Maybe 1-2 people make decent money from racing (which might overlap with the first group).
