[3.21] Aegis Incinerate Elementalist - Tank with over 10mil Shaper DPS!

Ok, thanks for clearing that up :)
I went with the Inquisitor PoB and elementarist gear it seems, no biggie I havent invested much in the gear yet and the most expensive (shield, skin) goes for both versions.

Anyone playing other ascendancy other than inquis??

I played it last league with Inquisitor, and had a blast. One of most enjoyable builds so far, probably will roll it again this season.
Hence my interest if someone tried other ascendancy.

correct! You won't have to worry too much until you decide to go crit with Leadership Price which is very expensive, so you can feel free to follow the Elementalist build.

I am going with Inquis again this league but I don't think you will have any issues with the other versions.

The league is fairly rippy for any of our versions, at least compared to past leagues (this goes for all builds).

The biggest issue we are facing is that the shield is core to our defense and while in the past, we would simply make it the first item to buy, that is no longer possible. The cheapest Aegis shield on sale right now is over 7ex (yikes!).

I am going to make do with just a generic rare shield that has over 30% block to utilize the leech on the Cerberus Limb.

I'm doing my scorching ray totem starter again this league, and I used aegis last league but not this one. I check the aegis price from time to time and I dont even see one on the market. Is it because a lot of people quit the league so there's less supply?

I also hate that GGG nerfed ashes of star drop so much it's a 40X item now. GGG really knows their customer base, and thinks everyone wants hardmode, and we all have 100 hours a week to grind like we used to when we were 20. :P

At least price of leadership seems cheaper this league

Edit: My trade bookmark had a limit of 130 chaos for last league. Lowest cost one now is 7.7X I'm wondering if I should just play in standard this league, this league mechanics is meh and rippy anyways

You keep mention the Leadership's Price Onyx Amulet, is that really any good? (sorry if thats a newby question). Atm: I'm using an amulet with a buckload of dex, energyshield and crit and it allocates Soul of Steel.

And for us (well me) who wont/cant afford to go for the legacy belt: What to look for in Watchers Jewel and where to put the saved passive tree points?

The leadership is needed for the brittle effect, which caps your crit. If you don't have it then you want to consider going non-crit, which is less damage but easier to gear for. You also get scorched (more minus elemental resist) and sapping (defensive)

Without the belt (and watcher eye) you can't use Pain Attunement, which is a big DPS loss. I've used Arrogance support before to go low life, but overall it's not the best.

I wonder if GGG nerfed the Aegis drop along with Omni and Ashes to cause it to be so expensive this league. Without Aegis you will not be anywhere nearly as tanky :(

So with a non-crit build I guess I'm back to be a elementalist, which I'm apperently geared for (using the gear list at page 1). Well, I have only played about 6 weeks and I'm going for a 10 ex build so maybe that will have to do.

The PoB for a elementalist at page 1 shows a witch build though. I know I'm new here but is that right?, I was kinda hoping for a templar version..

Well, yes, elementalist is a witch :D

This thread originally started as inquisitor, then for a few leagues elementalist is just better. Past 2? leagues people in this thread theorycrafted inquisitor and guardian versions so that's what they ran with, inquisitor can run righteous fire and get more damage with crit version.

You can still do an inquisitor if you want, but check the DPS by loading the elementalist POB then change it to inquistor. I think the DPS will be lower. The 60% AOE from Heart of Destruction is also great, as incinerate needs AOE and cast speed to feel good
