Reddit Mods are being GGG shills about the Purposeful Harbinger Nerf

Something to keep in mind is that GGG was probably able to convince themselves to do a mid-league nerf because so much of the power was coming from a bug/unintended interaction rather than just poor balancing like other overpowered things people keep comparing to. The cluster notables are still going to have the poor balancing part and that will likely be adjusted in the next league's patch notes.

Also, can I point out how stupid it is that you claimed the PoE subreddit almost universally hates you? And you've burned every bridge with GGG?

Like, I've made a big noise about things, but I'm not even going to pretend that GGG notices, or even the subreddit notices. I could probably send death threats (not that I will), and GGG wouldn't notice.

You don't have a bridge to burn. And you aren't popular enough to be universally hated for anything other than your name, which, I must admit, is making me hate you quite a bit.

This makes a lot more sense now. People are just changing small parts of something busted and pretending they made it. Everyone is telling themselves GGG nerfed "their" build.

Congrats you've just described 95% of builds on the poe forums.

Seriously, I wonder, how stupid can people be to not expect nerfs of clearly (super clearly) overpowered stats that outshine others even 10-fold.
Thats like essence of suprised pikachu memes.
If your build gets nerfed you probably should expect that, its your fault if you cant foresight so simple things.

I'm in the same guild as the OP for transparency, but this is ridiculous.

Arch-mage is "clearly" ridiculously overpowered in its current state. Should I be expecting a nerf for that too? They said they don't do mid-league nerfs, and they specifically addressed aura stacking earlier and said that they weren't planning on nerfing it.

All this did is kick anyone who made the effort to save up the monumental amount of currency needed to start playing with it feel extremely alienated and stupid for listening to GGG. Two people in my guild have already quit the league as a result of it.

If they stopped it potentiating item auras? Whatever, fine. Do what you got to do. But this specifically hurts guardian users so much more than anyone else who is aura stacking. The fact it invalidates someone's ascendancy choice mid league and they said that they weren't going to touch it beforehand is what makes it nuts.

Situation 1: X is OP. X is not nerfed.
Situation 2: Y is bugged. Y is then bugfixed mid league.

Hint: Situation 1 is NOT similar to situation 2.

If you stayed in the realm of "I don't exploit bug", you wouldn't have any problem (and you wouldn't be affected by the fix in any way).

But of course, when you start stacking shit which aren't auras and yet are still affected, then...

The PoE subreddit almost universally hates me and I've burned every bridge with GGG, and even I agree that you broke one of the subreddit's main rules and they acted accordingly. Job well done by the moderators. I only wish the ones here were so diligent and consistent.

You are attributing a false causality because it suits your agenda. Occam's Razor: you broke a rule, they acted on that. Or, y'know, you can keep clinging to what amounts to a conspiracy theory that, like most conspiracy theories, hinges on the unlikelihood that the person believing in it is more significant to the matter than they really are. Conspiracy theorists see intent and victimisation; realists see procedure and collateral damage. You took your otherwise acceptable post and posted it in an unacceptable way. It was thus removed.

That's all this is.

Sorry to burst your bubble.

Sure. Another GGG shill. Like, you've even prefaced by claiming you were not a shill. Seriously, that's like saying "I'm not racist, but..."

No, it's like saying 'I was racist but then I had a change of heart after a lot of soul-searching'. But since everything I said went waaaaaay over your head, I'll leave it there. Calling me a GGG shill just reveals your ignorance, big-time. But hey, whatever mate. It's your pity party.

Innervation already posted it, but I'll iterate:

https://www.reddit.com/r/pathofexile/wiki/rules#wiki_7._refrain_from_posting_duplicate_threads_about_the_same_topic_within_a_short_period_of_time

"If multiple threads are posted about a server issue, announcement or other event, all but one will be removed."

I haven't looked, and I don't plan to, but if they removed your thread and there was already a thread about it, that'd be why. There may be other threads that aren't deleted though. I haven't been a fan of the PoE subreddit's moderation for years. Either way, you broke a rule. They took action. That should have been the end of the story, but clearly you think otherwise. Why you'd post it here and not there can only come down to a feeling of desperation and helplessness on your behalf, I figure. Confirmed below...

I only said all that to qualify that I am absolutely not a GGG shill (and never have been, given *I* was the one who gave them the money, not the other way -- you do know what shill means, right?), and frankly I find that as your go-to defence laughably untenable. Especially when you clearly have no idea who I am. Not that it matters, because like you, I know GGG doesn't notice. Unlike you, I kind of like it that way. They know they've created something people just won't quit, no matter how poorly they treat their players. Have you quit, despite this little ragespurt? Of course not. :)

And yes, don't send death threats. I know some part of you might want to, but don't do it. Because GGG would notice. Chris doesn't take kindly to his staff being threatened, and I imagine the reddit mods don't either.

The really funny thing is you had a point in your post. You really did. You just made it the wrong way and then doubled down when that wrong way was properly handled. Man, why'd you do that? Seriously. Well, it got you attention I guess. Just not the attention you wanted.

And if the best you have is 'I hate your name', pal, you're done. I have quite a few names, and this one is easily the nicest. :)

Take care. Wash your hands.

And they said *I* was bad at PoE. At least I made it out of act 1 and know how to use the /dnd function. El oh fucking el.

I am Path of Exile's biggest whale. Period.

As far as subreddits go the PoE one is pretty good about letting you post what you want. You're just not allowed to post anything that's mean towards individuals at GGG.

Reddit hivemind is still a big problem though. Once one comment gets accepted as the "truth" 10,000 people will try to fit in by parroting the post. This leads both to massive overreactions and blind spots.

It's not unique to the PoE subreddit. All social media is like this. It's why all the major subreddits instantly silence all dissent and seed fake comments from shill accounts into every post. Since you can see the previous posts of users on Reddit you can clearly see which posters are viral marketers, Chinese/Russian trolls sowing discord, political agents, etc.

The number of people in the thread who says that we should have expected this is ridiculous. I mean, I know that they don't actually follow the news, and don't really know what's going on, but really?

? I expected this before you even knew this was a thing, I bet you'd find that the original dude even expected it lmao

7. Refrain from Posting Duplicate Threads about the Same Topic Within a Short Period of Time

I know, I know, your angry post is special and different than the other ones already posted.

Oh look. A GGG shill!

Apparently, you are ignoring all the other positive comments about the nerfs.

LOL. Stop following me around, shill!

Edit: Holy, so that is who you are. LOL. I didn't actually think they were this serious. LOL!

Oh I see, you think "GGG shill" means anyone who disagrees with you. Man you are self centered.

First how stupid do you have to be to think that GGG would not nerf that build immediately like any reasonable game maker would?

Second how self centered and disingenuous do you have to be to get all butt-hurt and baby rage all over several forums about GGG doing the obvious thing?

The GD forums are a sewer of selfish whiners and haters and somehow you managed to bring the standard down. Wow, just wow.

Hey guys,

I'm going to go ahead and close this thread because this is treading into Code of Conduct breaching territory. I understand there's a lot of anger and upset over the recent changes, but that does not mean it's open season on people who may disagree with your point of view.

Please note that GGG does not own or moderate the Path of Exile subreddit, and we have absolutely no say over the conduct of the moderation team over there at all.

I also don't believe that our forums is the place for bad mouthing other sites or moderation teams, that is not appropriate for the Path of Exile forums. If you have valid concerns over another site and their moderation or policies I would suggest you reach out to the people in charge there directly.

If you have any concerns at all please feel free to send me a message directly. :)
