[3.17.5] Devon's Minion Instability Skeletons | Extremely High DPS | Thread locked... made new one

It's a good build to level up to yellow maps - beginning of red ones. The dps is good but the survivability is terrible terrible terrible when you start doing t15+ alch and corrupted and heist 81+ is a bitch to escape.

I ran with an animated guardian with king maker (fortify) playing very carefully staying behind my 20% chances to agro zombies but it was not enough. I would still get one shot from time to time.

So playing this build to the end game mixed with heist being very frustrating and even more frustrating because of this terribly squishy build made me quit this league.

It's cheap and effective to level up but its all it should be : a leveling build.

Yeah this build requires a little bit of brain power. You gotta sidestep a couple of things usually. Not like the other necro builds I'm afraid.

It's not a question of brain power man it's a question of this build having no defensive layer at all so even if you are playing carefully there is no way your not gonna get fucked in the ass from time to time.

Don't take it personal it just is what it is!

I killed all endgame bosses with this build, but I suppose I was playing something different.
Or maybe it does take a little bit of brain power ;)

Never said you can't kill end game boss with this build but you better be real fucking quick about everything cause you can be sure those bosses are gonna kill you too in the process!

I mean come on! you have no armor, no dodge no mitigation whatsoever you can't block shit you got not endurance charges all you got is you 7000 hp! Can't be more of a glass canon build than this build so yeah you will kill end game boss and run T16 but you gotta be on your A game all the time that's all i wanted to say.

Still is a good build!

Again, wrong, it has 54% evade chance if you're close to them so instead of running away like you did it would've been smarter to stand closer, not only that but you would've been killing them faster, AKA they wouldn't be killing you, plus you have the bone barrier, which I know, is very hard to click.

I reviewed your changes and updated my gear and gems according to your setup. I really like the faster cast speed on Desecrate and Blood Offering, makes a huge difference. Putting Blood Magic on Flame Dash is very smart as well. Dying because i just got nuked out of nowhere and being unable to flame dash away was frustrating.

What specters are you using? I guess some good buff specters? Would Host/Carnage chieftains be useful?

Overall great changes, toothman. Thank you!
You're welcome, bro! I won't comment much on all the above discussion (ahem, MOM) since I'm not the best at boss mechanics myself. My lowest Sirus deaths record is still 2, even on tankier characters, and that goes for Uber Elder as well.

And yup, went with Frenzy Apes for Spectres. The charges give cast speed and can be burned to recast Cold Snap.

I made one more small change: I swapped one of my Hulking Corpses/Life from Death mediums to one with Hulking Corpses and Feasting Fiends. Life from Death heals other Skeles when one dies. One is enough to keep Zombies, Spectres, and Golem alive but two was slowing down the popcorn.

@devon752 I seem to have made my own variant and wouldn't want to be an imposition on your guide. Do you feel it'd be appropriate to write my own thread? Crediting yours at the top, obviously.
I went ahead and wrote up the guide since there's a lot more information to convey and I don't want to intrude on this thread

54% Evade Minion instability by Devon!! The only build where you have to use a complete different tree posted by a random user on page 8 if you want to survive.

54% Evade i will remember this one but but but bo bo bo ... bone barrier
Sorry or maybe not,but this are my impressions:

1. Build is fine till you reach lev 90 and want to grow( red maps, etc)

2. Squincy even with 6k life as you get one shot a lot. This build requires a lot of piloting and understanding of boss/map mechanics to survive thought fights.

3.This build is an awesome boss killer on less than 20 chaos investment and somewhat mid-speed mapping.

4. Frustration to play it as you get killed;frustrating to see that when you hit vaal skellies do not blow up the things u actually want/need and they do body blocking) funny thing could work around maybe offerings( that accelerate/speed minions towards targets), steelskin could be a variant form of it or molten shell to have better protection, tricky is you don't want any protection for your minions.

5. Fun to see things melting burning, but frustrating to see that specters do no actual damage.

6. I recommend this build for the unique way it works and for being cheap as hell, as well as a boss killer( if you can survive till is dead).

Solution:

1. Grab a Femur of the Saints( was 20c, not around 40c)

1.1. Grab a chest with life/resistence 6 link or 5= 20-30 chaos maybe even less if you have patience( put the zombies here)

1.2. Grab a helmet with minions bonus( put the specters here)
and use the Carnage and Host Chieftains ( 2+1) with blood magic in it.

Enjooy the block damage that the Femur of the Saints gives you because of the skeletons bonus with vaal skellies around 74%; with 10 skeletons around 23%.
Enjoy the fact that mapping is kinda the same and the boss is taking 1 sec longer, maybe 2 to kill and you have no deaths.

Congratz for the concept of the build and it's uniqueness style.

Keep playing this build if you have the patience that I do not have, as can get you in end game, but not without deaths.
