[3.15] Essence Drain 6.6 Mil DoT DPS | Very Beginner Friendly

A few suggestions to folks starting/using this build and maybe having some troubles:


While you cannot afford, or are still leveling, Empower, a good sub of the same color is Cruelty. It only increases the BASE damage of ES, not the DOT, but it's one of the only red supports that will effect it at all.

A change that needs to be made in the guide is the Witchfire Brew - it is worthless for this build as of 3.15 - don't waste the time, effort, or money on it.

For Low Life Only : Another small change that I mentioned earlier - Blood Magic no longer exists as a support - you want Arrogance support for our life auras.



A couple of good budget items before you get those awesome higher end items are:

The Vertex Vaal Mask - +1 level to gems, 50% reduced mana cost, and generally around 250-300 ES for pretty cheap. (I think I got mine for 2 chaos)

Allelopathy Sorc Gloves - Grants Blight at level 22, increases DOT, Increases AOE and is about 100 ES. By granting Blight, you save one skill slot - I personally threw a flame golem in for a little extra damage, but there's a lot of options that work. Paid 1c for mine.

Rainbowstride Conjurer Boots - around 100 ES, 25% Move speed, and some light resists. Mine was ~1 alch.

It is still viable. Several things are more expensive to purchase, now, but the build itself (with some minor changes) works just fine.

How about lifetap? ED is not a skill you spam a lot, so with some life flasks and ED regen it provides you should be safe I think?

Probably not recommended after you swap to LL / Zealot's Oath though.

Ooh, Yeah! Lifetap WOULD work BEFORE you go Low life (or CI) - it doesn't help our damage very much (10% for lifetap vs 40% for Cruelty), but the nerf to flasks, though, was also a nerf to Lifetap .... though if you're having survivability problems, any little bit will help! Good idea!

I got a very similar setup some leagues ago and would like to revive it for some casual Breach or Delirium Farming and would be REALLY glad if someone had some advice for me.

How do I craft the Chaos Damage over time on my bow? It seems to be nowhere to be found on the crafting bench.

Thanks, but I thought it says in the build that I should use 2 wands, so I don't really know what "You won't be using your offhand at all" means.

Thanks for your effort but I guess this build is wayyy to complicated for a noob like me. Think I'll go back to Arc Witch.

You need to unveil it from Jun missions (weapons with "of the veil" suffix).

People are just using the wrong wording, it means is you buy extra gems put them in a weapons in your secondary weapon swap these gems will not be used but will still gain experience as you level. at some point they will level to 20 like your regular gems then you can sell them to a vendor 1 gem + 1 Gemcutters Prism and you will now have a lvl 1 gem again but with 20% quality. place them back into the secondary weapon swap and level them again to level 20 again, at this point you either vaal orb them to try and get lvl 21.

This build can slay Sirus? Maeven?
