There's a leveling section in the op, but basically socket the gem as soon as you get it and try every few levels. I was able to use it perilously at level 40 by always keeping flasks up, along with Golem, vitality and purity of fire.

Other common uniques you may have got from ssf are kaom's rings (extra endurance charges) and a springleaf shield. There's also Shaper's seed amulet but I never have any luck finding one.
Sorry, a non-build-specific Question. I am now level 82 in Delirium, and found zoday my first T5-Map. Is omething wrong with my stile?

Thanks very much for the response, and for making and maintaining the guide. I've been recommending it left and right!

The chest colours were ~50 chromes (used the 'at least two red' recipe on the crafting bench), definitely got lucky there.
Thanks MockingbirdUK!

That's very kind of you :). I appreciate your kindness and encouragement.

Only 50 Chromatics! Wow!

Hi Folks!

I've been interested in an RF build for some time, finally getting around to trying this out.

I did have a flick through the thread, but I didn't see an answer to the following.

I'm a little new to it, so perhaps I'm missing something, but the Chieftain node 'Tawhoa, Forest's Strength' seems a little weird for this build.

If I am understanding it right (and to be fair, I may not be) then the part of this node that reads "35% chance to gain an Endurance Charge when you use a Fire skill" seems a bit non-synergistic with this build?

My understanding is that Righteous Fire won't trigger this at all, and the only time Incinerate (Or scorching ray if you went that route) would trigger this effect is one single time when you FIRST start channeling. So in order to actually trigger this more than once, you'd need to be constantly stopping/starting your channel, which would seem to be very inefficient and constitute a very erratic source of endurance charge generation.

Is this correct? If so, it would seem as if a significant part of this nodes benefits go to waste?

In light of the above, I would also ask if this node is justified purely due to the fire damage boost per endurance charge? Additionally, given that the node doesn't appear to be generating endurance charges for us very often.....are there other sources of charge generation that allow us to make full of the damage bonus provided by this node?

Thanks very much for the build Wrecker_of_Days and I appreciate any insight!
Hey Terradoss!

You understand the game well. Tawhoa isn't perfect. You're correct in how it functions with the build. Channelling skill only have a chance to gain a charge when the channelling starts. It's essentially a strong travel node to get to Valako.

But there's nothing else to select anyway. To replace the 4 nodes with something else would require changing the build tons to incorporate other aspects of those new nodes.

Tawhao still has value though as it allows people that choose to replace Incinerate with something else the extra chance of gaining a charge. As the guide allows lots of room for customizations, the people who use things like Flame Dash really benefit from this too. And in battles where we have to keep moving, like against Baran, using Incinerate for only a second over and over builds it up anyway. But you're right, it's not perfect for this build.

To answer your second question, a node that gives 35% increased damage is huge. For an Ascendancy node to only give 35% increased damage is ok. But as mentioned, just because of where it's situated, there isn't much we can do about it. My minor changes for 3.11 (if they go through) will likely make much more use of that Tawhoa.

Good observation and post!

Hey Tsiganisti!

Good luck! RF is awesome and really rewarding to have levelled SSF. But you're right, levelling it is patience testing. In the levelling section of the guide I mention that the easiest way to level is by finding a fire spell as you won't require accuracy with them. There's a small list in there of Fire Spells our class naturally earns as it levels. They'll carry you, not too slowly, until RF can be sustained. I forget which they are or I'd list them. Sorry.

Let us know if you have any questions. There's a lot of great people following this thread this league :).

Hey grhmath!

I don't understand your question sorry. You're level 82 and a T5 map dropped. What would be wrong?

If it's your first character, maps take their time coming. You don't get them fast, but you won't run out of them either.

Sorry, I don't understand.

Hey grhmath!

Most of the time, XP per hour, is more dependent on how fast you go through a level. So the higher Tier map you can do while going really fast is likely your most efficient choice. You have the chance to get better gear at higher Map Tiers, but if XP is your primary interest, the maps you can do the easiest are likely your best.

If you hover over your XP bar it'll tell you what your XP per hour is. You can reset the XP per Hour counter on PC, by typing "/reset_xp" in your Chat Box. That doesn't reset your real XP, just the counter. So go into a map, hit Enter and type "/reset_xp", then do the map. At the end of the map check your XP per hour. Do that map a few times resetting your XP counter each time. Then try a different map and do the same thing.

It'll help you determine the best maps to do for your playstyle.

Does that help? Let me know if I misunderstood you.
