Cold ANIMATE WEAPON Summoner | League-Start & Leveling Guide
" Happy that the guide was helpful! Wand trigger craft is still the way to go in all versions. In that PoB I wanted to show with as close to zero gear as possible, hence the Arcanist Brand setup - but really that's less optimal than having the trigger-crafted wand. That also frees up a slot for the movement ability. |

Hello everyone, this is my lvl 89 fire conversion build (not completed, still need to do more jewels), managing to hit 5.9ish million DPS with ~3ex investment.

Thanks for the follow-up to my post! I've been practising for league start and sure enough am having a blast with the build =)
Just wondering, how far do you think the build can go in terms of content? I see you could do Shaper no problem, but would it be able to handle uber elder etc, or is t16/A8 Sirus about as far as it goes? Also, I haven't played minion builds before, but would this be able to do atziri with reflect and all? I assume it works similar to traps in that the reflect goes to the minions instead of you? | |
" I don't usually put super hard into aspirational content so I'm not sure how this does against maven, feared, etc etc. Generally single-target bosses are the build's strength (so uber elder should be fine) but stuff with a ton of HP and lots of targets, so DPS isn't focused, eventually become a problem in the mega-late-game. (for example, in scourge, I couldn't comfortably do beyond Simulacrum wave 25 - on about a 10 ex budget version). It also has problems with encounters in a fixed arena because if you die once, trying to re-summon while dodging is a pain. The area to really min-max will be on insanely good Abyssal Jewels with flat phys and added % damage - those get spendy fast, but really kick DPS into the next level. There was a chaos version of animate weapon which was popular this league - might look into that for super-endgame ideas too. Atziri reflect: you will be safe, but the minions will kill themselves instantly. To solve that, suggest to use Soul of Yugul + Sibyl's Lament ring |

" Sorry for the late response. I really appreciate you taking a look and I will try it out. Last edited by MikeDCold on Jan 11, 2022, 2:28:26 AM

Hi I have loved your build guide as a new player in PoE and had a question about late game. I haven't had trouble with scourge mechanics at all until I got to level 80 and in my maps I get completely blown up. My armour isn't too high either (3300) and my chaos resist is suffering to say the least. Are there any items or tips you could give on how to handle this alongside general items to help beef me up? I saw in your 2020 video that your armour was in the 5000s so I'm wondering if you could take a look and help with my build. I'm overdue some boots but would not sure where to go in terms of defense overall. Thanks for any help and please let me know if I'm doing this wrong or weird, haven't posted on a forum in years.
Here is a link to what I've done so far, most of it is similar to the guide. https://pastebin.com/Te45Fu0v |

" Hi there. Here are the easiest places for upgrades: - Armor. Bloodbond is okay, but either Belly of the Beast or Skin of the Loyal will get you better defenses. Want to stack armor, not evasion, so the Divine Shield keystone does more work. - Amulet: recommended to use The Jinxed Juju, basically means you take 10% less damage - helps with chaos res a bit too. - Abyssal jewels. These are huge for the build and you should trade for some good ones - Cluster jewel - the 12 passive cluster is really inefficient and is taking up passive points that could go toward more HP/defense. - Culling Strike doesn't need to be in Animate Weapon gem links, there are better options - rings. I don't think Hungry Loop is needed. You can drop the Lifetap support, which will free up an extra socket to use flame dash Last edited by ThanatoZGaming on Jan 11, 2022, 1:50:27 PM

Thanks for the quick response, I'll get to work on it!

Quick update: I'm shifting some stuff around and noticed flame dash is actually a blue gem so swapping out lifetap isn't really feasible. Were you recommending changing the socket colors around at this point?
