Wuhan China Coronavirus.
" Uhm no. No mater which evolutionary path we follow as a species, things will co-evolve to try and exploit us. Some are benign and some are not.(symbiotic vs parasitic) You don't get to press the "evolution button" while pressing pauze on the world around you to fantasize about some perfect state were people have nothing to fear. We are simply hacking the fundamental codes to grant us tools to assist our survival, thats what we do as humans, we are the species that uses tools most effictively. There isn't some "we are all hercules" future. Peace, -Boem- Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes

" There are some deviations here with regards to humanity specifically as we are the only species on earth capable of genetic modification (whether intentional or not) Plastics, chemicals, and other carcinogenic materials, and bio-weapons can certainly alter evolutionary tendencies. We will be entering in a pretty significant era soon when eugenics &other genetic modification, meld with bio engineering. It could usher in a golden age, or just as easily, a disaster of epic proportions. "False. My whole point about multiple vaccines is that the Wuhan coronavirus is particularly adept at randomized genetic modification. Literally every lifeform on Earth is capable of evolution by natural selection, which is unintentional genetic modification, and viruses aren't even technically lifeforms, but are plenty capable regardless. Your transhumanist ideology blinds you to organic truth. When Stephen Colbert was killed by HYDRA's Project Insight in 2014, the comedy world lost a hero. Since his life model decoy isn't up to the task, please do not mistake my performance as political discussion. I'm just doing what Steve would have wanted. " I never claimed humans were rational or had the gift of foresight. For example, the claim that it will usher in a golden age is eronious in itself since we have absolutely no clue how our genetic coding functions. Compare it to knowing the alphabet but having no clue how to interpret words. We can index gene sequences and attempt deciphering by correlation or examining odities. Which bassicaly amounts to people saying "we think this gene has x% to do with y". But this is very minor comprehension because it for example doesn't imply "we think this gene has x% to do with y and when we turn it on Z is turned off or affected". Which would be the ideal scenario people are working towards. We have the alphabet, but we aren't even close to a workable language that allows the manipulation people dream off. Peace, -Boem- edit : " I think within the context of his post he was specifically talking about "brute force intervention". I think his statement is right in that sense. Arguably small lifeforms have exponential mutation potential due to their lifespans but they don't target evolution but do so under external pressures. " Says the man claiming stuffing yourself with drugs is the healthiest way to go about life. I can only assume you're one of those "heroin for children" advocates, and think chemo is more than just literal poison. Need a new signature, cuz name change. I dunno though. I guess this seems fine. Yeah, this is good.

" Point me to the post where i claimed stuffing yourself with drugs is the healthiest way to go about life. Don't strawman, it makes you look "out for a fight" while i have no desire for such a thing. Peace, -Boem- Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes

" Couple quick points as I realize I wasnt very specific with regards to my commentary on genetic modification. Obviously genetic strands and genomes can evolve or mutate naturally. As Boem mentioned that wasnt really what I was getting at. Hell, for all we know Corona could be a bioweapon that got out just as easily as a mututated leap from one species to another. (I dont even know what I would believe either way, tbh) My brief comment on eugenics being either a golden age or human catastrophe is loaded with all sorts or moral questions regarding the human condition. Its essentially the modern day Spartan equivalent of tossing a baby down a well, except we will have the ability to eliminate the possibility all together. Are we better off completely eliminating all genetic illness and disability? Should we allow genetic modification of children (eye color, hair color, height, etc?) How would you even do that country to country? What about military use? What about socioeconomic factors? Controlled reproduction? I mean the rabbit hole is a fucking abyss here. Anyways just wanted to clear that up a bit. " A somewhat disingenuous presentation. The Spanish Flu, with its enormous fatality rates, shouldn't even be in consideration, as it took place a century ago, in an era without advanced medical care. Based on the graphs, Coronavirus appears to have a very fast spread trajectory, and a death rate about 4 times that of Swine Flu. The comparison with non-epidemic forms of death, in particular, is a very bad straw-man. Those deaths occur at their usual rates over the entire population, not just those currently infected. Informative, but also deceptive. ='[.]'= =^[.]^= basic (happy/amused) cheetahmoticon: Whiskers/eye/tear-streak/nose/tear-streak/eye/
