Currency tab - Some (obsolete) suggestions
EDIT June 24th 2020 :
Quite disappointed by GGG's decision to create 3 new tabs. I still think there were valid solutions with a unique currency tab instead. Sad they didn't choose to go in this direction... ---------------- Hi everyone ! With all the new currencies added to the game recently (conquerors exalts, oils, catalysts, ...), maybe it's the opportunity to make an overhaul of the currency tab (GGG if you listen :D). My main focus was to reorganize the slots so that currencies are « logically » grouped according to their usefulness, frequency of use, value/rarity. Since currency shards have no use, I separated them from their respective orbs in order to facilitate the grouping of useful orbs around the item slot. In the first iterations, the result was too cluttered and busy.

I searched a way to get rid of currency shards. My first idea was to hide them near their respective orbs and only visible by clicking an arrow next to the orbs.

But again the result wasn't satisfying. Finally, I thought a good solution might be to put customizable tabs (with some non-allocated slots) inside the currency one. We've already got the map stash, which allow some kind of tabs to store hundred and hundred of maps, so why not the same system in the currency tab ? - it would allow to manage existing currencies (oils, catalysts) which have no slots in the current tab. - the less useful currencies like shards could go there, letting enough room to rearrange the other orbs around 1 or 2 item slots, for crafting purpose. - and each time GGG introduce new currencies without upgrading the tab in consequence, we still could store them in a specific spot in the currency tab. I made several variants around these ideas :

Now we have a game designer in town. Good work, exile.

" This. And rather graphic/layout designer. |

This does look decent, however you kind of already know that it's just not going to happen, ever.
You know how long it took GGG to put horizons in the currency tab? Yeah... Also if you put this many things in 1 currency tab, how is GGG going to get more money from people buying a bunch of tabs to complement the currently incomplete currency tab? So between their greed and the extremely slow progress, like 2 years for horizon orbs to get their dedicated place in the currency tab. Yeah, not going to happen. The idea is nice and I'm all for it,it looks good, but we kind of all know that this is just wishful thinking. |

The problem with currency tab is that we wanted normal tab but with 5k limits on each and they made... well... it.
Just sayan. |

Some of these look pretty darned good. And all currency needs to end up in the tab some how. The current state where a bunch of shit doesn't go in (looking at you certain Harbinger Shards and Oils) sucks big, fat donkey balls (didn't include new currencies, they never go in).
I also have nfc why the four Harbinger currency slots are hidden, that just seems stupid. Support a free Hong Kong.

" We can read this point in every threads about currency tab mockup. Sure, GGG needs to make money, and tabs sales are one of their most important income. But it doesn’t necessarily mean that they voluntarily leave the currency tab incomplete for this purpose. And not everything revolves around currencies storage anyway. With all the other stuff you need to store they introduce each league, some of us still "need" to buy more tabs. IMO, they had better to improve the currency tab if they continue adding new currencies, especially for keeping the stash attractive for new players. Would you want to buy it if you know that half of the currencies don't fit in it? Furthermore, if you bought this tab, you should expect to fit, at least, all the core currencies in it. However, the currency tab is not in a satisfying state and I agree with you when you say GGG is very slow when updating it (horizon orb is a good example), but it doesn’t mean they didn’t do anything with it in the past (it got several updates), and won’t do anything in the future. A good example is the fragment tab. Between its release and today, it has been constantly updated to receive items introduced in new leagues (I’m not white knighting for them but I don’t see here the greedy GGG you’re talking about).

So no, I don’t think we can say “it's just not going to happen, ever”. I mean, yeah, these suggestions in particular could never be used/seen because they're bad or whatever, I don’t care. But I don't buy this “greedy GGG” argument as an explanation. Let’s hope they’ll do some improvements in the near future. And in this perspective, perhaps we should give them some suggestions, in case they're listening... Last edited by goup#1995 on Jan 27, 2020, 3:47:36 PM

" Thank you! Yeah, it's so weird how they integrated harb currencies slots... After all these years, GGG still make some weird decisions when it comes to UI design. |
