The belt and body armor will probably be your biggest boosts. Then helm/shield, and rings if you are using ES rings for defense. Boots and gloves not as much.

There are a lot of nodes that boost ES from shield so a little improvement can go a long way there.

Belts and rings can also have increased ES from body armour, which helps.

Ohhh yeah Arcane Guarding wheel is 100% ES boost from shield that's a big buff.
