Armors

Hi, so far I really like the variety of armors available in the first two acts, and even if most look a bit like salvaged stuff, the ring mails and the duelist armor look quite cool.

I can't say I like them all though, for example I find the steel vests and the sun plate quite ugly, but considering that in act I the player has to put together armors from scraps of metal then the look of these armors makes kind of sense.

However, I would like to see more plate armors (aside from the sun plate I don't think I have seen any so far), are you planning to make plate armors available in act 3?

I made this post because I think plate armors are the coolest armors ever, and they make heavy armored characters look awesome! :D


PLATE ARMORS:

completely agree with you, i also find it strange to find stronger tier armors look like scraped "crap", although i do understand why lower tier armors look like scraped pieces of metal...

I'd assume they'd start incorporating some heavier armors as the game goes on. Take Diablo 2 for example: one didn't get a chance to get any sort of plated armor until the second Act, and even then it wasn't full plate-mail or anything of the sort. You didn't get a full set until the fourth Act and even then you could find some amazing stuff after in higher difficulties.

Although I haven't had a chance to play in game yet, I've been lurking for awhile and watching plenty of the gameplay videos other beta testers have been posting, so I'm pretty excited to see where this all turns up, with a key or without.



Edit: There seems to be a couple more types of plate than what you mentioned in your post, check out the armor database on the site at: http://www.pathofexile.com/item-data/armour

The only other thing that really comes close to a plate armor, apart from the "sun plate" (which is really ugly btw) and its modified version without the ring behind the neck (brass plate), is the "jagged plate", but that's it.

However, I hope you are right, and we will see more plate armors coming with act 3.
