Weird FPS issues
POE has been running flawlessly on my machine for a very long time now, until tonight's patch. Now, after running smoothly for a period of time, my FPS suddenly crawls to a halt around 2-3 FPS.
Sometimes this seems to happen with no noticeable trigger. But there are several potential triggers that I've noticed. One for sure is opening the passive tree. I was running at a steady 60 fps a few min ago, then pressed 'P' to open the tree, and FPS dropped to < 5 and remained there even after closing the tree. The only way to fix for now is to exit the game and then reopen. After opening, it will work fine anywhere from a couple min to around 15 min before I encounter the FPS drop again. Sometimes running into a large pack of mobs with lots of effects going triggers the permanent FPS loss, too. Not every time (many times there will be a dip in FPS in this situation as per normal) but sometimes the FPS will drop and remain low until exiting the game. I have been looking but can't find anything else on my windows machine that could be causing this. And since there are a couple of distinguishable triggers within the game, I currently believe it is related to the most recent patch. Thanks for any help! Last bumped on Dec 31, 2019, 5:32:06 PM

I'm experiencing the same issue. Are you on win7 by chance?
As in your case, it's also happening with the skill tree, and big mob packs, as well as large particle effects. Was having no issue until tonight's patch as well. |

Yep, running win7 with a GeForce GTX 1050.
This is the first time I've had any issues like this, and I've been playing since closed beta! |

Glad to Know I'm not alone in this, as I was about to report.
Similarly I was having no issues until the recent patch. I've actually been able to trigger it spamming Vortex+ColdSnap (as It's my build) in my hideout, albeit not as bad as when it happens while mapping. still drops my FPS permanently playing and only fixable with a restart. I am similarly on win7 with GeForce GTX 770 as well if that helps with any correlations. |

+1 with the latest patch the game is unplayable for me. Almost immediately goes to about 5 or less FPS.
I'm running Windows 7 with a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760 video card. |

I'm having the same exact issue. The FPS randomly goes to the floor and stays there, on that unplayable condition until I restart the game.
The game was working flawlessly until last patch. Windows 7 and GTX 750 here. |

Also running win7 here and having the same problem after the last patch.

Would like to report that an update to my graphics driver seems to have fixed the issue.

I updated my graphics driver once I noticed this issue but the issue persisted :(
