3.9| DEADITOR |Elemental Hit w/ Ballista Totem Support| Use Any Gear! (Need a Big Investment Though)

Does mana/life leech work using the ballista totem support?
Overwhelmed by Path of Exile? You might want to have a look at Wrecker_of_Days' beginner-friendly guides. One-click-wonders that do not require any specific items to conquer the campaign and the Atlas: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/2606288/page/1
I just noticed Phase Run is not listed as having a level limit in the guide, but when paired with a level 1 CwDT, it needs to be kept to level 3 or lower. I was wondering why my Phase Run never triggered!

Thanks a lot for the guide!

One thing you need to make people aware is that if, like me, they start using any of your loot filters when starting a new character, they will not be able to see any gem drops or even the weapon that you start with on the first NPC talk by the beach.

So please make a note about it because it is not showing any items at all for early levels, including the starting weapon you need to progress to the first NPS talk and the first skill gem you use as well as the first support you find by the beach.

Also, why Scion and not Ranger?
Hey m3lt!

Thanks for the thanks!

That was just an accidental oversite while updating to 3.9's filter. They are normally in there. I fixed the filters earlier today thanks to this message. You should see all Normal items for Act 1 and Magic items for both acts 1 and 2. Thanks for pointing it out!

I chose Scion for a few reasons:
1) Health. The starting location of the Scion is really early access to huge amounts of health, something that doesn't really exist in the south east side of the tree.
2) EE. Again, the location of the Scion's start point is sooooo close to a vital damage node.
3) The Scion kept the "Additional Projectile" perk in the ascendancy which is HUGE for clearing.
4) Health again. The extra passive points we get let us get so many more passive nodes that we end up at 184% life at level 90 (which is awesome for a bow character)...and that's by choosing a side in the Bandit's missions instead of taking two points.
5) Inquisitor. The Inquisitor node within Scion is PERFECT for this build.

The Dead Eye is a perfect ascendancy for this setup as well, but I couldn't get anywhere near as much life as I would have liked.

Hey Wrecker!

After playing largely Necromancers for the last year I decided to change it up and this build looked like a lot of fun to try, so I made it my league starter.

RNGsus smiled upon me and around level 11 or 12 I had a Storm Cloud drop. I'm now level 36 and have yet to find a bow that's even close to an upgrade over this, and it has me curious - with the combination of pure elemental damage and the crazy attack speed modifier, is there a point where I'll eventually find or craft a better bow, or are this thing and I destined to be best friends forever?

I've found a couple bows that come out a bit ahead in total elemental damage, but losing the attack speed drops my tooltip DPS like a rock and I'm trying to figure out where the balancing point is.

Hey Katalaeia!

Welcome to the center of the passive tree! Nice to see you.

Your best bows at the end will be crafted rares. But levelling is a different story for sure. EH is unique with the bow mods we want. Attack speed is big because the Ballistas are slow. We focus on Crit Damage and Chance on the tree so those are great in a bow too. And obviously elemental damage. Oh, and +1, 2, or 3 to bow gems. So just keep your eye out for good rares and save your fusings. Keep a couple bows stashed as you go along just to try out and see how they differ.

Great rares will come.

Question, how can you have 10 points allocated in your Ascendency?? never played a scion before do they get extra points??
Hey Krevlor!

There's only 8 points allocated. The Scion doesn't get any more Ascendancy points than any other character. She does get more Passive Points though. I think where you may have counted incorrectly is where those "skull" looking nodes are. When you select those nodes, you then have to choose one of the three ascendancy options there. So the skull and the ascendancy choice are just one point.

Does that clear it up for you?

Hey guys, been trying this build. I find it really lacks damage early game, I switched to bladefall for lvling. How do you guys get damage early game?
Hey RisibleFreaK

EH for some reason is pretty weak to level with. That's one of the reasons I started as a Scion. It's really close to Elemental Equilibrium. Things pick up pretty good after that. But they really take off after the Deadeye ascendancy node is taken.

I'm currently levelling with EH and Ballista Totem Support to see what it's actually like (it's not quick :(). That being said, Caustic Arrow has always been great (over the last few leagues) for good damage while levelling. Even without any damage improvements to the skill in our tree. I'd try that.

(I hope they bump up Ballista Totem Support a bit next league.)

This looks really fun! I may try it for my first scion.
Sweet NocturnalRegent!

I hope you enjoy it! It's a little slow to level at first, but eventually, it gets really strong. Let us know what you think!

Hey Caligula_Exile!

Leech would only go back to the totem, not us :(. So I removed the leech nodes that were in 3.8 (let me know if you find any mistakes I made with the tree).

So this league I have a bit of mana regen that should suffice endgame with 4 totems.

Good question.

Good find Katalaeia!

I'm so sorry I missed that! Phase Run isn't cheap either! Shoot. I changed it in the guide as soon as I saw your post earlier. So it's changed now. Thanks for finding that for me!

Sorry everyone! I hope my mistake doesn't put you too far out!
