Path of Exile: Conquerors of the Atlas Teasers

Well, yes, I do. They're called gacha games, and they've been around for quite a while! Probably even before 1990 in physical rather than digital form.

If you can't handle RNG, get outta the RPG! It's practically a staple of any RPG to have something, ANYTHING, be heavily reliant on it, whether it's a rare monster spawn, an item drop/drop rates, winning at gambling, etc. etc. etc.

While I agree that it is a staple to RPG's, it has gone overboard and we can do with a little less of it.

And if we are going down the path of "what is normal in an RPG" a die or dice back in the day, in you know, the original RPG's, didn't result in 2000 different random results each one with more random attributes and qualities and and and...

Yes to rng in rpg's, no to too much of it.

Come on now man, you know the reason they do it ultimately to such an extent has NOTHING to do with the RPG nature as much as keeping the grind up so people can keep playing. Along with creating rarity with that grind that can translate over to trading to ensure that the game has at least some point to collecting trading/crafting resources. Which also adds to the grind.

Its more a mechanic for the longevity of the game itself rather than the RPG nature of it. With that logic, we can say RPG's are all about role playing and choices, and last I saw PoE has no choices in it period other than the Bandit Quest sooooo, if being as true as possible to an RPG is their only intent, there are plenty more ways to go about it than just go crazy on rng which, again, was never initially that heavy in rpg's to begin with.

More "controlled" RNG within different parameters is much more welcome imo. And they have done good work to apply it here and there, like say fossils in crafting. But they need to do more imo. Don't get rid of the rng, but don't let it be the be all to the game either.

Some mechanics like straight up gambling for example can have the maximum amount of RNG integrated into them, etc. So it will still be there.

p.s, that is, with all due respect, the silliest thing a person could say. "Don't like it, change game genres, derp"... That is low. People can have different tastes as to how certain mechanics (like rng in this case) are applied to games. To straight up defend in a shill manner a mechanic without thinking of the other persons pov and telling them to sod off is not nice.

guys please listen to me, PoE's atmosphere should be darker and less colorfull, trust me, like diablo2, more dark deep dungeons.. more bricked cellars, you know what I mean, look at fungal hollow map, its so fancy and playing it u dont feel this unique atmosphere, i mena game feeling, poe should change it thats my opinion, please just think about it !

I disagree.. The game takes place on an island. The colors help represent the vibrant vegetation known for being on islands. Fungal Hollow is the most extreme of these tile sets anyway. Most of the tilesets do not have much color (besides act 2 and act 6+7) But those tilesets have a lot of vegetation.

I disagree. The game started out as a D2 clone, and was successful for that reason. It became for many the true successor to D2.

Being on an Island does not equal to more vegetation straight up. It depends on the Island. Fungal Hollow for example has nothing to do with an Island but more so a jungle. There are many barren and shipwrecked rocky islands, depends the region the island is in.

So going by that logic alone you are wrong.

Having that said
1) I like some maps like Fungal Hollow in the atlas as this connects to many places in time and space and it breaks the monotony of just dark locations. I rather enjoy going through maps in day time as well and not being all dark. It gets too tiring.

So I think they are doing a good job balancing the two. Maybe a few more dungeon designs? That could be nice.

2) I think this is what they are going for with PoE2 anyway. It already looks darker. I love it. Even the woodland area where Crowbell was showcased. Looks so awesome. Can't wait.
Speaking of Diablo, GGG should kind of fool proof leg item names. I seen the new chest, and I was like "oh, they are reworking it, lemme compare to the old one". Couldn't find the old one, but I could swear the name was very familiar. I finally realized that it was a leg shield from D3 (that I have played more than enough)

Persistence makes impossible possible, possible likely and likely definite. Yep, Mirror will drop eventually -_-
5 days left. Can't wait.
wheee
That new armour looks kinda interesting! )
Problem with the new armor is you have to jump through hoops to get chaos to not break energy shield, since no shavronnes.
I guess it's good for party play Guardians.
