General Discussion - So, what happens to stuff in standard in 2.0 - Forum

Wealth in PoE could be compared to an experienced chess player who played for years and gathered an advantage over a younger player. No need to take that away to make it fair. The set of rules must be the same though and items are part of that set of rules. Well, I disagree with you guys. I worry very much what will happen with the standard. I am playing largely in the standard and I like my items. I play in standard becouse I don't have time to create ultimate build in leauge, becouse it's only 3 months. When all my legecy items gone the standard would stop making sense. I suddenly realize that I might have a different definition of what constitutes a legacy item for me. A legacy item for me is an item that has been made unobtainable in its original form by GGG and of which there now exists a different version (like for instance kaom's heart - just to name a well known one). Items that are unobtainable because they could only be found in a specific league or were given as race rewards are not legacy for me. But I'm fine with you all enjoying it the way it is. that wealth was generated through legacy means that no longer exist as avenues to make money, and you can no longer make money like that in standard from a fresh start because these people hold monopoly of the servers economics through mirrored rare gear. being as rich as those people are is a legacy status. Standard isn't competitive, what is there to worry about? I'm the type of player that likes to accumulate junk and my junk is very valuable to me. I have zero desire, nor do I have the time, to play for three months in a temp league. If POE 2 forced me to start from scratch in Standard, I'm honestly not sure I'd make the switch.
