Whose play experience is improved by having to do all six Uber Lab Trials?
I think the idea of having that last ascendancy point being locked behind some kind of content is fine, probably even positive... it gives something to work towards.
the problem is when it takes 20+ trials and your character is past 90 by the time you get there, then its a mindless lottery and is pure frustration rather than reward for doing a thing. I'm sure GGG has done something to weight the trial type towards ones you actually need recently, or I've just been lucky for the past few leagues as I'm sure I've had all completed in under 10 trials. In Blight it took me 6 to unlock uber lab, which isn't very likely given pure RNG. as long as its just a 6 for 6 situation I think its fine, although the whole labyrinth idea is another issue. Trials shouldn't be a literal trial, this is a game after all. so in answer to the question: occasionally a little bit, but mostly not. |

I like the trials being there, I just don't really like the situation where you've got 5/6 of them and the last one doesn't want to show up.

If you're having trouble finding the 6th trial, you can spam out a bunch of white maps. I believe trials spawn more frequently on low tier maps.
The trials and labyrinth are also my least favorite part of the game. Good ARPG, bad platformer. |

I like it being skill-based and not being able to complete it by simply buying strong gear. That's one of the problems with Diablo. Once you have strong enough gear you can blindly roll everything. Even if the rifts get too high it's not a matter of intelligent play. I also like it thematically. The idea that someone constructed a maze to test your skills.
I get the RNG aspect is annoying when you have multiple characters, but it's only 1 out of 4 trials that relies on RNG. At that point can't you just lvl while playing maps until you get the final trial? Maybe it has to do with my skill level. I play hardcore only but after a few deaths I generally stop playing that season. So maybe you play a lot more than I do. |

If there's a 10% chance of getting a trial, and they're randomly distributed, you would expect to have to run 150 maps to complete all six. The problem isn't that number, but the variance on that number. Sometimes it would take 1000s.
Decreasing the variance somehow should be the goal... perhaps by favoring the trials that the map creator lacks, or provide a way of selecting a certain trial by running a certain map. |

Greetings,
I never had issue to get my trials. Once in the Atlas, I spam as much as I can prophecies and seal my dream trials for when I'll be in yellow maps. I also buy about 10 of those. I usually end up with 3-4 completed with 2-3 to complete when I reach yellow maps. Then I use the dream trial prophecy and voila!!! it takes me under 70 maps total average. Labs are fine and they are a nice and unique part of the game. I just wish we could choose the uber lab level up to 83 and it would scale the rewards. That would be AWESOME!!! Thank you |

" Sorry, I've been on vacation the past week. The trials are bad for the game, IMHO, at least locking the final 2 ascendancy points behind them are bad. GGG needs to move the ascendancy points someplace else in 4.0 perhaps? The Over 430 threads discussing labyrinth problems with over 1040 posters in support thread is way past fitting in the 50,000 character limit. Too many threads like this one. I had to delete a bunch of thread names to fit this thread into the list. The list is now 434 threads long. "It looks like in 4.0 prestige classes will be moved out of lab. What form that move might take is apparently still not being publicly released. Whether it will be better or worse than lab is also not yet clear. Now that prestige classes will finally leave lab in 4.0, will GGG get it right this time or will they find new ways to repeat old mistakes?
