I'm so sorry if this is something rude for you but i laughed so hard at that.

I took it as a comment meant to be funny. I laughed too.

What's wrong with Texas? OMG, where would someone start? The property taxes (ever rising w/no end in sight) in cities and suburbs makes it where an affordable home is not going to be for long. They totally dropped the ball when they did not pass a property tax cap like some places (ME comes to mind) did. Totally. A decent homes' property taxes are well over 2k per month. That puts your PITI roughly in the neighborhood of smallish Manhattan apartment.

To have a driver's license you now have to be fingerprinted. Expect to spend at least 12 hours when your license expires at the motor vehicles place and they make you renew it in person so they can get those fingerprints. Forget the fact that my fingerprints are already on file due to financial licenses that I possess now and have in the past.

The heat is incredible and it is literally NEVER comfortable. Either hot or cold, usually hot.

What Mr Smiley said. English is no longer spoken in great swathes of it. Driving is like a demolition derby where only chumps have insurance. My auto insurance alone dropped 60% when I left that dump.

My wife had "allergies" in TX. I call BS. She never sneezed since we moved. The pollution is incredible. It is worse than Petersburg (Russia, not FL)!

The sunsets here are incredible! In TX they looked like another planet with all the pollution.

In Dallas there is a saying: "If it grows, it goes!" They are not fucking with you. They hate trees and literally cut them down on sight when what they NEED is more trees. I just saw an article that in Highland Park (a sort of upper class, internal suburb) they chopped down a Christmas tree that has been growing over a hundred years. Surprised the thing lasted that long!

What is right is they have no income tax, and (for now) it is a red state. It will not be for long with all the morons from CA and NJ and MI and OH and what not moving there.

These people leave their state because of all the problems there and then move to another state and try to re-make it in their old state's image never realizing that the problems they are fleeing are being recreated. SMH

edited to add: forgot to mention crime and traffic. It takes you an hour to drive 6 miles. There is literally traffic 24/7.

The Governor had to call out the National guard in one area where cops would not go it was so dangerous. It is worse than Scorcese's NY at this writing. More like NOLA.

Here is a true story of what happened to the wife the day before we left: she went to a suburb to drop off our internet equipment since we cannot get same provider here. On her way home, a road rager took a shot at her with a 9mm. Another day there! I told her to report it to the police and she didn't even bother!
