Is the game worth playing right now?
" Meh, not the kind of game balance i'm looking for, making some content exclusive for certain builds is the worst thing you can do in an RPG is a completely retarded game design. |

" ok, but the nerfs you're referring to are the nerfs after the forced buffs for creating the meta. they forced winter orb into the meta. they forced cyclone into the meta. and the warlord's mark thing i'd say doesn't really apply. that was just general balance that'd be like saying, in one month, OMG the forced meta, they nerfed necromancers and miners Last edited by xMustard#3403 on Nov 4, 2019, 4:20:26 PM

" Seems you've made your mind up. Minus the crude words I somewhat agree, but outside of Blight I think you can tackle all content with melee or any good build. I downed elder/shaper with a unguided ground slam build for my first blight character. Moved onto a budget totem build for faster mapping and so I didn't have to rely on friends to clear red blighted maps, with 20+ lanes I don't see how that's meant to be simple for a melee character. |

Still takes a toll on the system and some parts of the optimization makes no sense.
The cataclysm while fun is like 15min content run over and over again. The story missions / dialogues are just as cringe as in the rest of the game (it might just be me going old). Loot drops a lot more often but there is no safeguards on the rolls or duplicates. I have during my most recent 20 hours of play scrapped all legendary found and I am half legendary half masterwork. The only good legendary roll I have has forced me to play with a play style I do not like. So while adrenaline and action is fun... I just about had enough. I like to appreciate games like wow or d3 that even if I do not get the drops I still progress with materials/tokens/reputation grinds. Will come back again when more story/content is released though. EA/Bioware will not get any form of cash from me in this game again though so do not really know how they plan to go forward with their live service. |

Blight League has finally gotten to be playable (for most casuals) because:
1. QoP is better now that there are fewer players: Midnight EST yesterday in Oriath and all alone: 2. many builds make the 10 acts easy casual time play (even in SSF): 0 deaths Cycloner including Kitava kill: SSF Cyclone Slayer build based on 3.8 Torstein's Oni-Goroshi Slayer Cyclone -BUDGET- Demolish everything with talking sword. The only extra time consuming part of this was farming my own Oni_Goroshi sword. Even with the Cyclone nerfs after Legion League it still is a rotary mower build that works very well even with my no cost self-found/farmed gear. 3. Better loot drops from Cassia act blights: (don't know if blight map drops have improved) The rotary mower Cyclone build is great for all the blights. "You've got to grind, grind, grind at that grindstone..."
Necessity may be the mother of invention, but poor QoP in PoE is the father of frustration. The perfect solution to fix Trade Chat: www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/2247070 |

" Good, because you can beat the game - and all of end game (except Uber Elder - MAYBE) with every god damn skill in the game. Everyone telling you that you HAVE to go META, is full of shit and shouldn't be allowed to talk to new/returning players. The league is fun, even as melee, and I've had a blast. Sometimes, just sometimes, you should really consider adapting to the world, instead of demanding that the world adapts to you. Last edited by Phrazz#3529 on Nov 5, 2019, 12:05:12 PM

" But my point all along was just that the forced meta is only forced because of the nerfs. You said that as of recently it was all buffs which just wasn't true. Also, you may not realize this, but Winter Orb got like a 16% dps nerf before it was nerfed out of the meta. They introduced Winter Orb as the most general-purpose op broken skill ever (the ultimate shotgunning spell!), then nerfed it the next league, but it was still the most op broken skill ever, so then they destroyed its range and conditionally cut its dps in half so it could only really be a bosser (and only while standing still). Cyclone still would've been fucking crazy in 3.7 if they had merely done the exact same things (peak cyclone dps was higher than worb's was), but Winter Orb would've kept like a 30% or higher share of the playerbase if it hadn't been nerfed, because it was a really fun, fast, easy-to-use skill. They didn't have to nerf winter orb the second time. But they did. Because they wanted people to stop using it. |
