10m single target with about 5-10 ex investment

Hmmm there is absolutely no way to reach these numbers with such a low investment... Did you even play your own build in metamorph???

Also, Opus is almost impossible to replace in terms of dps only a mirror tier bow outdps it....

Ah yea, sorry was early in the morning for me. 5 ex should get you 3-4m single target.

they nerfed opus and buffed rare bows. opus only has 50% multi now, and rare bow can roll +2 arrows. a multimodded rare with +2 and some t3-1 affix should out-perform opus.

Oh yeah in 3.10 rare bow upgrades should be easier to find you're right!

Build looks cool and im Ice Shot fan so i will try out this build...

I really want to league start this because i know the clear is good and this league is more about clear than boss killing but I'm not convinced on the cost of getting good enough single target to still do end without blowing your own brains out from lack of single target.


How does this Ice Shot build compare to the other one on the front page?

I started out metamorph with the other build and it fizzled out on ST pretty quickly - I pretty much abandoned IS after failing pretty hard in the ST department.

This build - and the entire topic tbh - was, comparatively, a few leagues ahead with all the info people have provided over the course of metamorph.

Went back to my IS after I got bored of SA PF (about 2 weeks or so) and ended up playing it until I quit the league pretty much and easily cleared everything with all the helpful information people provided in this thread.

The "other ice shot build" was relying on legacy gear only obtainable in standard. Not sure if 3.10 update changed anything as I didn't look in-depth into it but during metamorph for example it used 150% death's opus while the league version was 100%, and now it's nerfed to 50%... boo :(

So yeah I think this guide is more accurate if you play in league not in standard and can't use any of the min-maxed legacy gear. Of course the other build will have higher dps ceiling because it uses items that you can't obtain in league.

Anyway let's not wrap it in cotton, crit-based bow builds require currency to feel good, the fact "you can use it as league starter" doesn't mean it's the same level as league starting with a miner or some other "clear atlas for 20c" build (even though a lot of these got nerfed across the patches).

I'm fully expecting headhunter-fuelled ice shot to excel in this league and be brought to glory like HH tornado shot was in legion, but expect it to hit new price ceilings (HH in legion was above 1 mirror in price at the peak time).

TLDR: It can be good but it's won't be both good and cheap.

I played this build the entire metamorph league and i would not recommend starting a league with it. It feels good in the end game and even then you are bound to be dying randomly.

It is a pain in the ass to level in a fresh league...
