Performance Hotfix Deployed

with stories like this and some I saw in the pages before I might skip poe for the next 2 months.

sure, I see less negative feedback on performance but I'm sure there's people with new issues and worse issues.

it's never worth to lose any hardware piece.

Especially with Blight encounters and Delve. It's almost getting too hot to play in these encounters.

Before blight my PC cores (water cooled system i7 7700) would run between 36c and 44c, depending on the encounters. My video card (GTX 1060) would run between 39c when doing nothing in my HO to say around 46-7c during heavy encounters. Even in Delve Azurite mobs, my video usually never went over 47c

Now, since blight (and especially since this "performance" update), the temps on my CPU cores shoot up as high as 54c, mostly when porting into another area - but can be very high in some maps and/or encounters. Video card is boiling past 58c in some blight encounters.

I tried a blight map, no go, that will burn up my PC.

Every time you guys mention performance update, this game seems to run hotter and hotter.

Mind you, my PC CPU cores idle in my home office at roughly 28c to 30c and video between 31c and 32c. Ambient room temp is always around 25.5c

This is the only application that heats up my PC in this manner.

You keep saying the game engine is "lean and mean" but I beg to differ. It would be great to see pre-blight temps on my PC, but I seriously have doubts about that.

The temperature thing becomes so bad at times, I shut down the game. It's not worth burning my PC up over this.

I don´t want to sound rude, but you seem to not know that much about temperatures on PC´s.

30 degrees in home office is totally normal and 50 while gaming is pretty much superb. If it doesn´t go into the red which means 80+, all is fine.

That your PC over time runs "hotter" is normal, you need to apply new thermal paste to the heatsinks every 6 months, plus remove the dust from fans.

But as I said, 50 degrees is pretty much superb, most systems run around 70 while gaming.
Since you have deployed your patch, i crash at least 8-10 times per day with the error Vektor T too long. I've never crashed before in this game.

Seriously ,wth ? I've been game tester, level designer ,level artist for a AAA game company and seriously, you seem to have a big problem with your QA team..or the time you have to test your bugs... You really need a ''test realm'' BEFORE releasing this kind of major bugs for everyone in the game.
"FIX" my ass. As of this evening, the game is unplayable for me. Noticed it last evening too, but today it is, as I said...unplayable. Character freezes, won't move. Game crashes. Totally f'd up. Come on GGG, get it together. We all like new content, but not at the expense of performance. I guess I'll find other things to do with my time until you people get your crap together.

I knew this typical answer would be flung out in no time at all.

LOL You read what you want to read.

I stated:

I'm pretty much anal about keeping my hardware clean and operating cool.

I have a air compressor out in my garage and routinely blow out my hardware on all my PCs, router, DOCs 3.1 cable modem, APs (multiple Ubiquiti APs), etc. While I don't work professionally in networking per-say, I have a fairly extensive home office configuration. I'm not a pro, but no noob to hardware.

There was a previous problem back a few leagues ago where GGG dam near fried people's PCs. People complained, GGG was in denial at first, blowhard answers came from the community like "clean your PC, reinstall windblows, ETC, ETC.

Then, GGG announced, by george, we have fixed an issue that caused some people's PCs to over heat by pumping the CPU to 100%.

Now, just so you know. I don't let windows determine the frequency load of the CPU cores. That is managed by the CPU itself with Intel's speed shift enabled in the bios, turbo (this is a CPU roaster) is disabled and speed step (mostly for laptops) is disabled. This allows for a very responsive hardware based frequency throttling to take place thereby boosting performance. without roasting my CPU.

I swear, GGG messes something up every league. Any other game runs cool on my system. I run vmware on the same rig, can run multiple 64 bit VMs at the same time, all running apps with no where near the CPU temps demanded by the PoE blight league.

Instead of making the effects so blindingly overwhelming, tone them down an optimize the particles to a minimum. Half the time, I can't see shit because there is so many effects splattering the screen, it's silly.

While the firework effects may look cool (I suppose to some) they are unnecessary to a good game. Tone this shit down and optimize the game.
Also had my hideout fps cut in half by the patch, desync now as well when I had none prior to the patch. FPS drops also in hideout when standing still and freezes are longer with action on the screen.
Getting the same performance issues again - lags, spikes, rubber banding.
Getting it in hideout now too, whereas before it was just in maps. Map level doesn't matter - white, yellow or red, jittery as heck. Has happened in the last day. Did something change ...again cause it was great till now.
Not sayin' it was the latest patch but if nothing else has happened then all roads leads that way ...
Crap performance this PM on Washington server. I so hoped things were fixed but either the same issue(s) have popped up again, new one's have surface or the patch last night is giving the servers acid reflux ...
I'm getting crashes to desktop since this patch. Never before.
