Overall, my take from the 3.9 updates is that we have gone from a build that was "EXTREME OP" and one of the most OP builds (if not the most OP build) in the history of the game, to being "STILL THE STRONGEST build in the game right now".
Haha, it's crazy... GGG nerfed zombies HARD.... yet we have come out stronger than ever.
Playing 3.9 feels just as good as 3.8, if not BETTER!
How is that even possible after the nerfs?
Well, for Speedmancers like myself we now utilise Victario's Influence which gives us a chest packed with auras linked with Level 30 Generosity. We also use the Elegant Hubris jewel instead of Lethal Pride. So our zombies are BUFFFFEEEDDD and all content just melts... FASTER than in 3.8! CRAZY!!!!
There are so many ways to play this build, with multiple gear setups, gem setups, and aura setups that you can choose your own playstyle and you will love it. Enjoy!

Personally, I just run with my speed gear as the 1 sec extra to kill the boss is faster than the 2 sec gem swap :P but it's a fun setup to play around with as you try instagib bosses :)

That is simply to prove that all gear listed here is interchangeable. We don't need any gear, but obviously it makes us insanely strong.
There are 4 options of setups. Use these as a starting point and then as you learn the build and how it all works, flex it to suit your own style!:
Setup 1) Balanced Setup using Saqawal's Nest
This setup provides the grestest balance of DPS and Defence. Your DPS will be fantastic (greater than with Geofri's) and your defence still solid (between 10,000 and 14,000 eHP).
We run 7 auras... yes... 7!! Note that Haste is not active while mapping though, we just pop Vaal Haste on bosses.
Note that POB doesn't pickup Lethal Pride jewel (left hand side) and Thread of Hope allocations - you should use skill points on Ravenous Horde and Cruel Preparation.
Purity of Elements can be swapped for Discipline for more ES, or Skitterbots for more DPS.
Carrion Golem can be swapped to Chaos Golem for more defence.
Maim can be swapped for Vaal Molten Shell for more defence.
Lethal Pride can be swapped for Elegant Hubris for more offence (swap Elegant Hubris Jewel location with either Watcher's Eye, Efficient Training on right hand side, or Brawn Jewel. This is so it doesn't remove your other nodes in Lethal Pride's location.
NOTE: Watcher's Eye, Emperor's Mastery, and Lethal Pride are totally NOT needed. They are simply min-maxing for the rich folk.
Setup 2) Tanky Setup using Geofri's Sanctuary
This setup is very tanky and a great option for most players. It is the setup that this build was built from and what most players at end-game currently use. It is the most tanky of the setups, but has slightly weaker DPS and movement speed compared to the Speed Setup below.
You will have over 15,000 HP/ES for INSANE defence, and you can kill Uber Elder in 1min 34 seconds with the BIGGEST DPS in the game WHILE PRESSING NO BUTTONS.. (literally, see video below):
Note that in the video above I have lower ES purely because I decided to do the run without chest amour (for the lolz!)
Note: Because we have 3 red and 3 blue sockets in chest, you can CHOOSE to either use the setup shown below (auras), or use a 6L Skeleton Setup dependingg on your preference. Auras provide smoother gameplay due to not having to raise skellies, but skellies do some great DPS.
Skeletons links would be: Vaal Summon Skeletons, Minion Damage, Feeding Frenzy,Melee Physical Damage, Multistrike, Melee Splash. Melee Splash can be swapped with Maim for bosses.
Impale in the weapon below can also be swapped for Minion Damage. The extra blue socket can provide more versatility - for example swapping in minion speed while mapping. If not using impale, war banner is better than dread banner.
If your Empower is not at least level 3, use Maim instead.

Setup 3) DPS and Speed Setup using Victario's Influence
This setup provides the fastest clear speed of any summoner in the game while doing amazing DPS. The sacrifice is you are not as tanky as Setup 1 above. You can still do all content in the game with this setup very easily, but you may die here or there.
Impale in the weapon below can also be swapped for Minion Damage. The extra blue socket can provide more versatility - for example swapping in minion speed while mapping. If not using impale, war banner is better than dread banner.

Setup 4) Budget and Newbies Setup
This setup is what most new players or players at the start of a league would start with before progressing to one of the 2 setups above. It's very budget friendly but obviously does not have the DPS and tankiness of the above two. This is where you should start this build, and as you make currency and get a feel for the build, you progress to your choice above.
If you need more defence, simply swap in discipline instead of flesh and stone and use chaos golem instead of carrion golem.

Gear Detailed:
NOTE: IGNORE GEM SETUPS IN THIS SECTION... use the above Setups for gem selection.
Weapon:
Rare crafted weapon is best. See Weapon Crafting Guide section on how to do this.
Queen's Escape is a great option giving good movement speed for minions.
Femurs of the Saints is the best budget version for DPS.
Mon'treguls Grasp is less DPS but is cheaper and can be used with a shield, allowing for more defence such as resistances, life, and energy shield.
A Chaber Cairn can also be used. I killed Uber Elder on a 5L Chaber Cairn pretty easily so that's another cheap option.
Armour:
Geofri's is the most tanky of the chests. It provides a massive about of defence from strength stacking. We get great ES and resistances.
Victario's is great for speed farming. It provides a massive boost to auras if you are running that setup, enabling you to do a tonne of DPS with your zombies and speed farm through maps easily.
Saqawal's provides a balance with more defence than Victario's (but less than Geofri's), and more offence then Geofri's (but less than Victario's).
Rare Astral Plate is great for overall defence. Life, resistances, armour, and an extra zombie and skeleton. Doesn't provide as much eHP as Geofris but is a good option if Geofri's is too expensive.
Tabula is great for getting started but you will want to upgrade to a 5L of one of the above chests at high tier maps because you will have no defence with a tabula.
Other options include the "The Queen's Hunger" for extra zombie/skeleton, free offerings, good life/ES, or "Saqawal's Nest" for increased attributes, reduced mana reservation, and aspect of the avian buff.
If you want to use ranged spectres, just swap in a Tabula or get any BBBGGR chestpiece. See Spectres section for more details on this setup. Alternatively you can put ranged spectres into gloves on a 4L.
Helmet:
Just great for zombies and all minion builds in general...
Gloves:
Shaper's Touch gives us a huge amount of ES and is best in slot, particularly when coupled with Geofri's Sanctuary.
Triad Grip's are for converting your damage to chaos damage. This allows you to scale chaos damage through Spirit Offering, Withering Touch, Withering Step, and Despair curse. It's a fun playstyle but overall slightly weaker than pure Physical.
Meginord's Vise is a budget item to get +100 strength to help us get to 1000 strength for Baron leech bonus
Boots:
Alberon's Warpath boots are great for giving us massive strength which we get benefit from all of The Baron, Geofri's Sanctuary, and Shaper's Touch.
Seven-League Steps are perfect for Speed Farming. Throw them on when you are not bossing.
Rare boots are great for helping with resistances. Get ones with strength, resistances, and 30% movement speed.
Stampede's are a cool alternative which you can annoint. This provides less movespeed, less strength, and no resistances, but it is a relaxing playstyle simply cycloning through packs as long as you can get your strength and resistances elsewhere.
Belt:
Rare belt gives us massive strength which we benefit from The Baron, Shaper's Touch, and Geofri's Sanctuary.
Headhunter gives us great strength, plus all the fun and cool mods for mixing up gameplay.
String of Servitude is best in slot for speed mapping. My favourite belt in the whole game.
Cyclopean Coil is a cheap way of getting 15% increase attributes and more strength. Can also give freeze immunity if you get your stats right.
Soul Tether provides awesome defence. The 2% damage leech we get from Baron helmet pairs perfectly with this belt, giving us a constant supply of life and ES leech.
Umbilicus Immortal is just awesome fun for smashing through bosses as fast as possible. This is more a gimmick and a fun item than for every day use.
Amulet:
Astramentis gives strength for Baron bonuses. Also helps with dex/int stats for gems such as Haste.
Aul's gives some strength, but also Pride reserves no mana, so it's a free damage aura! This is a great option if you are not strugglign with strength or dexterity elsewhere.
Rare amulet gives a lot of strength and can help with resistances.
Oils
- Anoint Death Attunement
Rings:
Rare rings give strength, life, resists.
Hungry Loop is an option to get another 5 link. This makes capping resistances harder but it can be done. You can add your 5L skeletons here or even a 5L ranged spectre setup which is insanely fun.
Flasks:
3.9 Weapon Craft Guide
There are a few options for crafting weapons (I am currently using the second one with fortify):
They all work great... craft one like below or simply buy one on the market.
Here is a simple guide for the staff:
1) Buy the base that has (or goto Alva's temple to try drop it):
+1 to level of socketed gems; and
Minions have x% increased damage
Minions have x% chance to deal double damage
You will probably get something like this:
I had the above with another prefix "Adds x% fire damage".
2) Use an Orb of Annulemt to hopefully annul off the prefix you don't want. As in the above, I used an orb and had a 1 in 4 chance to remove ""Adds x% fire damage"". I was lucky and got it.
3) If your suffix remaining is good, you can craft from here. If not you may want to remove it. In the case above, I would want to remove "reduced attributes" because it's worth nothing and I would rather exalt slam something good down the track.
So I would craft "Prefixes cannot be changed".
4) Scour the Staff. This leaves only the prefixes we want: +1 gems and the minion mods.
5) Craft "Can have 3 additional mods"
6) Craft "+2 Socketed Support Gems"
7) Craft "Minion Attack/Cast Speed"
That will end you up with this:
For the Fortify route which gives 20% More Damage, you need to do the following:
1) Buy an Elder 2h Mace or Sword.
2) Scour it
3) Orb of Transumation to make it a magic item.
4) Use orbs of Alternations until you land either:
+1 to Level of Socketed Gems; OR
Socketed gems are supported by Level 1 Fortify
5) Use an Orb of Augmentation to try add the other mods you need.
6) Use a Regal Orb to try add the other mods you need.
7) If you don't get +1 Socketed Gems AND fortify, scour the weaopon and go back to 1).
8) If you have _1 Socketed Gems AND either fortify or onslaught, congrats!
9) You are now at Step 3 in the Staff example above.. progress from there.
Spectres and Animated Guardian
Spectres: Mandatory: 2x Carnage Chieftans to give frenzy charges to all of your minions (Act 7 Ashen Fields)
Then pick your personal preference from one or a combination of below:
Offensive Option: 2x Host Chieftans to give power charges to all of your minions (Act 7 Ashen Fields)
Defensive Option 1: 2x Ruins Hellions for taunting enemies giving extra damage and less damage taken (Act 8 The Quay), and 1x Diabolist for cursing enemies with Enfeeble (Act 1 Upper Prison).
Defensive Option 2: 3x Undying Evangelists for proximity shields and defending the army (Act 3 The Sceptre of God).
Ranged Options
See Alternate Setups section below for how to set these up properly.

Note that ranged options don't give as much DPS but they can still do all content. See Alternate Setups below for some video examples. Will post an Uber Kill shortly using GMP and no gem swaps. They are a lot of fun but be prepared for your PC to meltdown! Mix it around as you play so you never get bored!
Animated Guardian:
Weapon: Kingmaker
Helmet: Mask of the Stitched Demon
Chest: Crafted chest with "Gain 10% of Maximum Life as Extra Maximum Energy Shield"
Gloves: Southbound
Boots: Victarios Flight
How does it work? Mask of the Stiched Demon gives 1% regen per 500 es. Your AG has 50k life+, you craft a chest with gain 10% of life as ES so he has 5k ES now, then give stitched, so he has 10% regen. Elder chest can get 2% regen too, so he can have 12% regen.
If you can't afford above setup use Leer Cast as helmet and for chest use either Belly of the Beast or Bloodbond or Ambush Charge or Gruthkels Pelt
If you can't afford Kingmaker, you can use Dying Breath as a budget version. But Kingmaker is so awesome (Fortify + Culling Strike) I would definitely try get it.
WARNING: if your Animated Guardian dies you also lose all the gear you equipped on him. To prevent this I would recommend not using him until your gem level is 19 (more HP). AG is not essential, you can kill everything in the game without him, but it's a very nice quality of life.
People have mentioned that their AG has died in the Hall of Grandmasters as well as Acid Cavern maps, so perhaps turn him off for those maps.
Bandits & Ascendency & Pantheon
Bandits: Kill All
Ascendancy order: Mindless Aggression - Unnatural Strength - Bone Barrier - Mistress of Sacrifice. (If you want to get an extra 22% movement speed use Flesh Offering skill instead of Spirit Offering).
Pantheon: Major: Soul of Lunaris. Minor: Soul of Garukhan
Levelling
Start with Summon Raging Spirits... Transition into Summon Skeletons and Raise Zombies. Support those main skills with minion life, minion damage, feeding frenzy, melee physical damage, melee splash... (or any other minion gem you come across). Focus on gems in final build and start leveling them.
Gear doesn't really matter as your minions do the damage and they are based on gem level. In saying that, do make sure that you continually upgrade your gear and links as you go. Use a chaos or two to buy a helping leveling unique if need be (see useful leveling uniques below).
When you reach Act 6 just make sure you are resistance capped. Goldrim is fantastic for helping with this.
Support and to level the gems: Flame Dash, Spirit Offering, Minion Speed, Minion Life, Raise Spectre, Convocation, Summon Chaos/Carrion Golem, Cyclone, Desecrate, Cast While Channelling
Summon Raging Spirits can probably be dropped by this point (if not earlier) as Skellies/Zombies will do most damage from now.
We drop the pathing to Death Attunement because by this time we should get it annointed on our amulet. Google "POE Annointment" if you don't know how to do it.
****Alternate Setups (to mix things up and have some fun!)****
Note: You can do ALL content with the original build. These are simply options if you prefer a different playstyle. Each setup can do ALL content (with exception of Delving 400+ when the Regular End-Game build is recommended).
Ranged Spectre Setup (really fun setup and it looks awesome!):
Swap in any 6L Chest that has BBBBGG such as (aim to keep your resistances capped and strength over 1000 if you can.. that's all that matters to ensure you don't lose defence):
For Bossing you could swap GMP with Slower Projectiles for even more damage... but I can never be bothered and our damage with GMP is so good anyway :)
I currently run with the standard 5 Spectres, but if you like this setup and want to take it even further and get 6 Spectres, you can get a "+1 to Maximum Number of Spectres" on your boots! And if you REALLY like it you can get "+1 to Maximum Spectres" on your chest at the cost of a zombie and a skeleton... and that would look so EPIC! If you do it, please let me know :)

Then spec into some jewel sockets, and spec into Golem Commander (respec out of some life).
Swap in Carrion Golem instead of Brutality in Zombie setup so they both become 5 links.
You will have 15 Zombies, 5 Spectres, and 4 BIG AND BADASS GOLEMS kicking some butt... oh and don't forget the 50 or so Skellies that you can pop because they want in on the action too...
Here is my POB with Golems setup + ranged spectre setup (this setup is REALLLYY fun... High DPS, great clear, and looks epic... it does have a bit less life though). But you will instakill Shaper, Uber Elder, Uber Atziri, and all end-game bosses with this setup. Massive DPS Boost to Minions (fun for instagibbing bosses):
Swap in this belt that gives all your flasks to your minions:
Then load your flask bar with offensive flasks like these... and simply pop them on bosses to annihilate them! Note you will have to swap your Brutality gem in Zombie setup for Fortify otherwise you won't get the elemental damage benefits.
Refund 3 passive points from life wheel (or any other passives you don't need).
Allocate Whispers of Doom passive (top left corner).
Swap out Haste for your curse of choice!

Why do we use Blood Magic in helmet?
Our spectres use mana to cast war crys that give frenzy and power charges to our zombies and skeletons.
Blood Magic allows them to spam their warcries so that your minions always have full frenzy and power charges (big boost to DPS).
Why is Death Attunement allocated in skill tree with no pathing to it? How do I do this?
This is a Blight League mechanic.
You can use Oils that drop from Blight fights to annoint Death Attunement on your amulet. For this you need a Clear Oil, Silver Oil, and a Crimson Oil.
Take your amulet and those oils to Sister Cassia in your hideout and she can annoint Death Attunement on your amulet.
You can then unspec the points in your tree that lead to Death Attunement and use them for something else!
How do we get 4/5 Spectres?
From 3.9 onwards we only get 4 spectres now.
You get the fourth spectre from having a level 21 Raise Spectre gem in your Baron which makes it a level 25 gem giving us the extra spectre.
Level 21 from gem +2 from ascendancy +2 from baron helmet = level 25 gem.
Why are my minions dying?
For anyone who is having issues with minions dying, try these strategies:
1) Make sure you have your Spirit Offering up, giving resistances to your minions.

2) Make sure you have Grave Intentions specced into for chaos and further resistances.
3) Get "Minions Leech x% of Damage as Life" on a jewel, or pickup "Minion Life leech" next to Sacrifice passive node (1 passive point).

How do we cap resistances? POB shows they are uncapped?
POB does not calculate all resistances.
When we raise our zombies we get +30% resistances from Bone Barrier ascendency.
We also get +22% to resistances when we pop Spirit Offering due to it's interaction with Mistress of Sacrifice ascendency.
How are you running all those auras? I don't seem to be able to run that many
Make sure your auras are linked with Enlighten Level 4.
Also make sure you have picked up Sovereignty cluster in skill tree.
If you're running the Speed Setup, make sure you also pick up the Influence cluster in top right of Skill Tree.
Where do I put my Lethal Pride/Elegant Hubris and how do they work?
There are 2 types of Timeless Jewels you can use with this build, but you can only use ONE AT A TIME.
Lethal Pride:
This will give you more strength. It's a more defensive option and works really well with Geofri's sanctuary chest.
A Lethal Pride jewel will ADD additional properties to nodes on your tree in it's radius.
You want to buy the cheapest Lethal Pride you can find and socket it in your tree in between Devotion and Faith and Steel nodes on the left hand side of tree. Check your nodes to see if you have increased strength on any of them. If not, you want to use a Divine Orb to reroll your Lethal Pride. Check the nodes again to see if you have increased strength.
Goal: You want at least 10% Increased strength without having to spend many nodes to get there. 15% strength is fantastic. 20% strength is amazing but very hard to get.
Elegant Hubris:
This will give your minions more damage. It's a more offensive option.
An Elegant Hubris jewel will TRANSFORM nodes in it's radius into pretty epic nodes. But it comes at a sacrifice - all pathing nodes give NOTHING.
For this reason, you want to buy the cheapest Elegant Hubris you can find and slot it in the tree where it doesn't affect your existing nodes. Next to Stamina or Resolute Technique are good options. But check others too depending on your tree setup.
Goal: You want at least 160% increased minion damage (2x 80% minion damage nodes). If you can get 240% increased minion damage that is fantastic. If you can get 320 increased minion damage that is absolutely EPIC.
Use a Divine Orb on your Elegant Hubris jewel to reroll it's seed and stats if your current one doesn't give you the right minion damage.

This will probably be the best build you ever play. Just putting it out there.
The great thing is it is so versatile... we already do all game content very easy.
You can easily just run with a quicksilver flash and go fast and in fact this is what I do most of the time because it's just so chill. The fewer the buttons the better.
Quartz flask is also great because we get phasing and so you don't get blocked. Popping a Phase Run is incredibly fun... it's like a rocket booster that gets you to 230% movement speed.
If you don't care too much about speed or you're struggling to get life, resistances, or strength, chuck on a rare set of boots with all the stats you need. With 30% movement speed boots you will still hit 160% movespeed by popping just a quicksilver flask. Same thing for the belt.. it's basically an open slot you can do anything you want with. Have some fun with it and mix things up!
If you want to spice things up, swap out your Undying Evangelist spectres and go for something funky like some cool ranged fireball spectres (they'll do jack shit because your zombies will kill enemies before their projectiles get there, but it's a free MTX!)

If someone would like to buy a lethal pride with 5% strength on Righteous army, Redemption and Faith and steel msg me. It fits well with build's skill tree. Maybe its not perfect but enough for most people probably.
I dont want a lot of money so just offer me something more than the price of the gem because i burned some divines on it some time ago.
Might be interested. Current one is 25% but only two of the nodes are along the regular pathing. Will need to PoB it after work to see if it's more efficient or not to drop 5% and move some nodes around
Nice, I got one at the start of the league, two weeks ago I got another one and decide to play a low life Guardian, pretty fun minion build with Dominating Blow and Herald of Purity.
