Console Gameplay Discussion - Xbox One S vs Xbox One X performance - Forum

Alright, so I wanted to give an update in case other people are considering upgrading to a One X.

So I bought an SSD and an Xbox One X this week.

I first tried using the SSD on my old Xbox One S. The loading times are shorter, especially when you just log into the game. Loading maps with a lot of mods still felt like it was taking the exact same time to load as loading a map without an SSD. So overall an SSD does improve load times quite a bit.

Then my Xbox One X arrived, and I have to say: H-O-L-Y S-H-I-T. I plugged in my SSD with the game already installed so I couldn't compare the loading times on the HDD of the Xbox One X, but the loading times are incredibly short. Also the visuals are better, because it's Xbox One X Enhanced.

In terms of performance, the X seems to be quite a bit better than the S. Blighted maps lagged way more on the S than on the X.

So overall, if you are thinking about upgrading to an X, I think it's worth it.

As a side note though, the fans of my X are really loud while playing POE. The console even shut down the first 20 minutes I played POE. I hope that I didn't get a broken one...
