3.8| Stress Free PoE - COLD-HEARTED CURSER |Clear the Atlas w/ YOUR Items @ YOUR Pace (SSF & Co-op)

I'm a newb when it comes to POE theorycrafting, but would The Whispering Ice be any good here? Saw it linked with Vortex+Channeling Support in another build, though that one used Vortex too.
Hello!
What spells to use before Vortex?
Hey Everyone! I hope all is well and the league is going smoothly.

Hey CollaredRhythm,

I don't know how Whispering Ice would do. Vortex doesn't channel so you'd have to come up with a different skill. It's a really fun weapon but I think you'd have to use it in a different build unless you did something like Cast on Crit...even though we don't Crit too much. I the Whispering Ice skill works with CwDT...that'd be something I (and probably only myself) would find really fun.

What was the link setup in the Whispering Ice weapon you saw?

Hey Singrave,

Honestly, any spell you like. They are all really strong now. I prefer Frostbolt. I love the natural pierce it has. But any Ice spell will be strong. So it's a matter of personal preference. Ice Nova is likely the closest spell in terms of playstyle to Vortex.

Thanks for the guides. Really like the play style as I need a more relaxed pace also. Question on this build's tree. What are your thoughts about taking the Ethereal Feast cluster for energy shield leech? Would it be worth it trading off the extra ES from further down the tree for the leech?
Growing old is a fact of life, growing up is an option.

Ha ha. I love your name older_than_dirt_poe. You're very welcome! I hope you enjoy it! In regards to leech, I don't think it's worth it in this build. It's too infrequent. You'd get lots of leech every time you lay your Vortex in the middle of a big group of enemies, but you'd only get it once every second because of the Vortex's cooldown. Feel free to add it of course as the explosion of Vortex does do good damage (though I did only focus on the DoT damage of Vortex when making this build, not the explosion damage). You may still find it very beneficial while mapping (not really bosses). But leech would better benefit a build that casts all the time, not slowly like this one.

Let me know what you do!

Hey, wanted to say thanks for the great build and detailed guide. Playing in SC blight and having a lot of fun with it so far, though tower defense can get a little crazy solo.

Here is where I am at gear-wise:

Spoiler

I'm having the most fun with this build in delve, no need to ever slow down and clears enough to always keep phasing flask up. Feels like taking the dog for a walk with my chaos golem in tow.

Ha ha, funny. Walking your Chaos dog. ha ha.

Thanks for taking the time to be so kind Tokoose. I appreciate it. I'm glad you're enjoying it so much! There have been a few times I've strongly considered using Bane to cast all three curses and using the 2 other 4-links for other gems, but I find there is SO much survivability in simply moving and hitting only one button. I'm glad things are so easy for you! I love this build.

Also, I like where you're at with gear (I'll trade you!). Greay job!

Let me know if you have any advice for the guide or the build.

Thanks again :).

Like the build so far... Have a question though: does Enfeeble have to be kept at lvl 5? (Cwdt is only lvl 1).

Regards

Found it: "Linked SUPPORT gems have no boundaries and can be fully levelled"

Thx

Hey Kromgaard,

Good find. When there are two trigger skills linked together, Curse on Hit and CwDT, things get tricky. But for the CwDT links that have curses, the three Curse on Hits and the three curses all go to level 20+.

hey wrecker i'm back. haha good to see you still playing vortex. for 3.8 I decided to come back to occultist. I think there's some reason for a meta shift from trickster to occultist but actually am not sure.

with regards to leech, we only leech from the hit of vortex, not the DoT. so it's generally not worth it. get % faster start of ES and you're good in terms of ES recharge. if you really want ES REGEN, then that's where vaal disc comes in. you can get regen from boots enchant, provided you have zealot's oath. I run that with a sulphur flask and zealotry aura as well.
