Here's an early look at the Necromancer Ascendancy in Path of Exile: Blight
[Removed by Support], if GGG thinks that fixing the behavior of minions and not actually giving them some much needed buffs was enough (in fact not even having an archtype meant to buff them at all), then they were very wrong. Tower defense league is dead.

So the gem changes combined with the new necromancer means a rediculous monumental beyond stupid buff to zombies, animate guardian, animate weapon, golems, corpse builds, and a few gimmic builds. We also see a small buff to non-crit skeleton builds. Meanwhile, crit skeleton builds got a small nerf and spectre might as well no longer exist. Maybe the spectre gem also got it's strength moved to it but we don't know that.
With the minions that were buffed, Necromancer will be just as viable of an option as Champion or Guardian and we will see a lot of minion builds this league. The raw clear speed on minion builds will be almost 40% of a GG TS build now on the upper end. Edit: Holy fk I don't even that new spectre gem takes the cake, eats it, has more of it, and then leaves none for any other minions. Spectre buff is way larger than the other buffs.... " What monumental buff is this we're talking about? Bonus moved to gems? No one is entirely sure that the entire bonus was moved. We know minion numbers was and some damage and life buffs but not sure if in totatily. More over, that wasn't really good enough back then. Not without major gear to make the builds actually good. So we got practically what we had before. The small buffs they got now are not really worth it. You'd probably be stronger going with a different ascendency because the buffs you are losing are minuscle but you can get other types of buffs, especially where survivabillity is concerned. Yeah that 100% dmg loss to spectre's is a very big deal that is a lot of dmg gone that needs to be compensated or it's going to be dookie in terms of min max.
It's viable I've min max'd a spectre summoner pretty hard but yeah losing that dmg is going to bother me a lot. Dys an sohm

" They should work for Plaguebringer but not Corpse Pact. You spawn corpses, You raise zombies. Plus, no build will think raising zombies every 4 seconds is productive. Also, keep in mind those gloves will cause your offerings to sacrifice zombies. |

" I don't understand this..... Necromancer is still offering a LOT to minions of all types. Meanwhile, In looking over guardians (assuming it isn't changed this patch too), I see almost nothing to help minions other then Sentinels of Purity. 20% INCREASED minion damage on Radiant Crusade? 100% increased minion accuracy from unwavering crusade is something I guess. I suppose you could go full on Mana Reservation and give your minions some ES via Radiant Faith? Is giving minions ES really doing much of anything useful? I mean, sure, if you want to focus on Herald of Purity Guardian is going to buff them in all the ways it has been.... but as a general Minion build, I'm not seeing much to buff other minions, certainly nothing to compete with what Necromancer still has on offer. " The 20% more life on node 10 and +2 minion levels on 12 are absolitly obscene amounts of power for all of the above mentioned. Animate guardian really will be immortal now and you won't have to resummon Zombies anymore. The damage from +2 levels on top of all of the other levels is going to be a huge damage bonus and now most minions will be moving faster. Minions like zombies were always pretty good till red maps where they hit a brick wall but now the wol and clear speed of these minion builds are gonna be drastically higher. To put these buffs in perspective, look up how many exalts a 20 quality lvl 21 animate guardian gem had been... |

" 20% more life is nice, but then again your zombies won't die when your gems are high enough. In essence, this is barely a buff at all. +2 minion levels is great? are we sure about this? If it was that powerful, people would use empower on minions and they don't. Now yes, gems changed but the fact remains that we don't know how good it is but odds are, underewelming. We really need far more minion buffs to damage, attack speed and preferably movement to have the ascendency be solind but you know what. Let's have corpse bonus cause that's good...
