I looked into this just now. So in order to make the character stand out against a dark background, a light glow is often added around the silhouette. In this case it looks way too much like a real character effect and is absolutely misleading. We will correct the images immediately.

If you bought the packs based on the assumption that it looks like this and really want your money back, then support@grindinggear.com can facilitate a refund for you. I am very sorry about the inconvenience that this has caused, and we will make sure that it is not misleading in the future.

Is $60 in your opinion a reasonable price for such microtransactions? Have you thought about changing the price? No? How many support packs have you bought? People simply prefer not to spend $30 than to have only an effect for weapons. Other f2p games give more interesting things for the same money.

You seriously asked the CEO how many packs he's bought?

Yeah its kinda shitty to add an effect for advertisement to a MTX for better looks, then take it away when the go for sale. So like a lot of others I had thought I was getting the character effects which does make the over all look much sweeter, so now they will prolly sell them separate would be my guess which would be BS.

Chris flat out said it was a mistake, you think he's lying? They didn't mean to add anything that looked like an effect. He even said they'd be refunding anyone who bought them based on those images.

Now, given that people have said they love the look of the art, why shouldn't they make them and sell them? They have to allocate resources to make those they didn't plan on allocating before, incurring additional expense. How much? I have no idea, I don't work in this field.

Maybe I'm just too much of an optimist/not enough of a cynic to view this as some sort of Machiavellian plot to get more money from their customer base.

Thanks for the answer Chris, but if there is time, those character effects look AWESOME to go with these packs, please include them!

Of course this is a rhetorical question.
But if he is interested in his own game..
How much money did he spend on his game, and how much on cards of Magic: The Gathering? Hmmm

When are the next big support packs coming? I need more points but don't want to buy of the same ones I already have :P
